This is basic knowledge and has been proven time and time again. I wasn't surprised one bit that the Chargers knocked off Denver and Denver is still a top 5 NFL team with a very effective offense.

Most hail marys are just the QB throwing it up just to give his team a slim chance to come down with it. 8 defenders vs 5 receivers all bunched up in one relative spot in the endzone and a receiver coming down with it is slim af. All the QB has to do is throw the ball so that it's inside the endzone and not out of bounds. It's easy to stall with only three guys rushing the QB. Most of the time the route means literally nothing since they are usually all bunched up in the endzone by the time the ball gets there. If Hail Marys actually took skill, then their wouldn't be a less then 5% chance that they would actually work, and we would see a completed one almost once a week, because you know, it is the NFL.

DominionMM1 11.21.16	right after I typed that I actually looked at the numbers and you're right. Dallas is allowing 4.2 yards per rushing attempt just like last year. Opponents just aren't running the ball as much as they were last year. Their defense has improved in the turnover department though. They only had 11 takeaways all last year, and this year they have 10 through 10 games. Biggest difference for Dallas that I can see after looking at the numbers is simply turnover differential.

But I can easily give him the same criticisms that you guys keep giving to Russell Wilson, especially when comparing Joe Flacco with Matt Ryan (who were both drafted in 2008). "It's easy to look good when you have a defense (Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs) and running game (Ray Rice) and also a top 3 head coach." Matt Ryan puts up numbers every year (just like Andrew Luck), has played with pro bowl/hall of fame receivers (Roddy White/Tony Gonzalez/Julio Jones (just like Luck has played with Reggie Wayne and TY Hilton)), has never really had a great o-line or defense (see a trend here), and has pretty much carried the Falcon's franchise to wins as well. So does that make Ryan better then Flacco?

Same exact thing goes for Miami vs. Denver for that wildcard spot. Denver has the toughest record for their remaining opponents so it's looking grim. I have family in both of those cities so I follow Miami and TB but I don't think they'll be able to make it far in the playoffs this year. Things are looking bright for these guys in the coming seasons though.

Said it during the preseason and I'll say it again, anything less then an AFC championship appearance for the Steelers is absolutely unacceptable. The AFC was weak af going into the season, and it's now probably the weakest AFC playoff bracket ever now that Derek Carr is out. Hate to put such heavy expectations on them but maaaaaannnn.

I like Tomlin as well but both of those are pretty valid critisisms imo, even though injuries are what have really been setting them back more then anything.

To turn that around and finish 12-4 in one of the most competitive divisions in the league this year is promising. Here's to wishing Car a nice recover and may the Patriots get knocked out of the playoffs quickly. Go Falcons or Cowboys or Chiefs, I guess.

DominionMM1 01.10.17	"you cannot deny they have leagues better than they were in 2015/16." the only noticeable difference between this year and last is their turnover differential due to them recovering a lot more fumbles than they did last season. in terms of total offense/defense and points for/against, they're roughly the same as last year. but I haven't watched a ton of phins games over the years so i can't say for sure.

Not really playoff team good but like I said they woulda beat Texans or the current Raiders if they played em imo, and probably woulda contested the lions. My whole mom's side are cuban/fl natives so they love the dolphins and I might be a bit biased

I personally don't see the Dolphins doing much any time soon because I don't think tannehill is anything special at all, and their defense is still mediocre at best. They've gotten a lot better (or so it would seem) with their running game, so at least there's that.

Heavy underdogs with average to bad quarterback play but solid to great defenses. This just feels like deja vu to me. Still a good chance I'm wrong, but I find it crazy that I seem to be the only one who has really picked up on the Pat's habit to lose to these types of teams.

AlexKzillion 01.10.17	See, I think their numbers are inflated because of the teams they have faced. The only upper echelon quarterback they've faced all season is Russell Wilson and he put up one of his best stat lines of the year against them (and my man RW has been messed tf up by other defenses plenty of times this year), along with giving Brady his only loss of the whole season so far. And they faced the Steelers with Landry Jones at QB and the Steelers only managed to lose by 11. If it comes down to Pats/Steelers, I'm confident Ben, Juice, and AB can tear that defense apart.
