Pop Rocks And Coke

Been digging these Pop Rock/Pop-Punk albums lately. And drinking lots of soda, which in Texas is referred to as Coke no matter what flavor it is.
1Jimmy Eat World
Futures

#'s 1 and 2 are on my actual 'digs' list currently. "Futures" is my favorite Jimmy Eat World album, hands down.
2Mae
The Everglow

As if I need to keep talking about these guys. Wish they'd put out another album in this vein; I've already got "Futures" so I didn't need "Singularity."
3Anberlin
Cities

I've actually been listening to all of their c.d.'s lately, but this one the most. I think 'Godspeed' is my favorite Anberlin song.
4Coldplay
Viva La Vida

I don't even own this c.d.; I have to listen to it on YouTube and iheartmusic. Still, I love it, and if I make a "Best-Of" list at the end of the year, it'll probably be on it.
5Guster
Lost And Gone Forever

Interesting band. Love some of the harmonies, and love the congo's. "Barrel of a Gun" has been constantly playing ever since I got this c.d.
6Get Up Kids
Something To Write Home About

"There's room to believe--out of sight, out of mind, out of reach; start over...there's no way to begin..."
7Days Away
Mapping an Invisible World

I will continue to whore this band until someone else can give an honest opinion of them. They're relatively unknown, and this is their only full-length album, but they sound like they're veterans at the top of their game. I've been listening to this c.d. a bit more lately, thanks to this pop-rock phase I'm going through spearheaded by JEW and Mae. GREAT pop-rock band, IMO.

The Best Worst-Case Scenario

If you go to Tooth & Nail's website, you'll find the usual big bands (UnderOath, mewithout You, Anberlin, etc.)...but you also might find some great bands that hardly get any attention at all: Starflyer 59, Showbread, Far-Less, and these guys, among others. Aaron Sprinkle (the producer for a lot of those bands) fronts it, and they craft some nice, soft Pop-Rock stuff. "Carelessness," in particular, is an amazingly beautiful song IMO. They're coming out with a new c.d. soon, as well...can't wait!
