Top 10 Rock Albums
This is a list of ten personal favourite rock & blues albums that've changed my life. |
1 | | Janis Joplin Pearl
This album made me love blues. It's one of my favourite albums of all time, not only when it comes to this genre but in general. |
2 | | Rush Moving Pictures
This album brings many memories still now and I've used to listen to it a lot when I was a teenager. "Limelight" will always be the most melancholic and ripping song for me. |
3 | | Deep Purple Perfect Strangers
My favourite stuff by Deep Purple and the first of this band which I used to play on repeat for such a long time. It's always nice to recall the teenage version of me trying to sing "Knocking at Your Back Door" or the title song. |
4 | | David Bowie Hunky Dory
My favourite album by David Bowie. I love the theme, lyrics, unique sound as well as Bowie's look at the time, which also influenced me a lot. |
5 | | Sinead O'Connor The Lion And The Cobra
Probably, one of the most underrated rock albums of all time and for sure one of the most underrated alternative albums of all time. It's hard to understand why most people recognize Sinead for "Nothing compares 2 U" and her album "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got". |
6 | | Against Me! Transgender Dysphoria Blues
Deeply true, emotionally touching but still sharp punk-ish sound. Great album and impressive combination. |
7 | | Gov't Mule Dose
I love Warren Haynes' voice, sound and the lyrics on this album. All the songs - especially "Blind Man In The Dark" which opens this huge album - are simply beautiful because of deep, really good vocals by Haynes. |
8 | | Bob Dylan Highway 61 Revisited
Sounds like a cliché but I can't help myself because it's a masterpiece. It was the first Dylan's album which I've started loving in high school years and nothing can change the fact that it's my favourite by him. The second place on this list would be definitely "Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" and than I think I have problem with choosing between "Blonde on Blonde" and "Bringing it All Back Home". |
9 | | David Lynch Eraserhead OST
Because it's Lynch - it will be the best explanation. |
10 | | King Crimson In the Court of the Crimson King
This album is one of the greatest things I've heard in my life in every meaning of this word. Because of it sound, lyrics, great production and changing of tensions, Hard to describe but one of the best (or maybe instead of 'but' I should've written 'because'). |
