Instrumental Progressive and Metal

After multiple lineup changes, genre indecisions, writing, scrapping, rewriting, etc. for the last 5 years my band is finally releasing its first professionally recorded/produced full length album. This has been a goal of my since I first started playing guitar 13 years ago. I've been hanging around sput for a while getting so many musical ideas, thanks to all of you that contribute to this awesome site! We financed the album ourselves and are currently unable to tour/play live due to our school/work/life schedules, so we can really only promote through the web and word of mouth. Thanks so much to anyone who checks it out. List is influence / inspiration #10 is our album. Streaming now at bandcamp.
1Rush
2112

We decided to put our longest song "The Lando System" as track 1.
2Scale the Summit
The Migration

The clean production of this album led us to go with Jamie King for mixing/mastering. We love how you can hear all the individual instruments separately, but at the same time everything still melds together well without being overproduced.
3Russian Circles
Geneva

When sending our pre-production demos to our recording engineer he said we were like "a mathier" Russian circles.
4Return to Forever
Romantic Warrior

When deciding to go instrumental we were all getting into these guys.
5Protest the Hero
Volition

Gave this album as a suggestion to Jamie when mixing some of the distorted guitars.
6Ozric Tentacles
Jurassic Shift

Big influence to us. Our song "Squaring the Circle" is inspired by these guys.
7Pat Metheny Group
Still Life (Talking)

Pat is a big influence on my guitar playing even though we're not really doing his kind of genre.
8Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath

Wrote a riff towards the end our song "Dynamic Earth" as a tribute to Sabbath, what can I say that hasn't already been said about these guys.
9King Crimson
Red

Saw these guys live and the next day was inspired to write the song "Eidetic Memory".
10Colonize
