Jagged, noisy mathgrind

Only the Flies
Blackened grindcore with some slower, sludgy songs. They don't always blend the styles super well, but bonus points because the vocalist sounds like the dilophosaurus in Jurassic Park.

You Will Never Be One of Us
Doesn't capture the atmosphere I really liked in their previous releases, but there are still tons of riffs. They Come Crawling Back is a little out of place, and a couple other songs drag a little, but there's enough here to love. | | 9 |  | Goolagoon
Life of Crime
More powerviolence than grind. I was pleasantly surprised because I hated this band's first demo. Life of Crime uses samples much more sparingly and tastefully, and their songwriting is much improved. Actually kind of looking forward to what they do next.

One of the more palatable metallic hardcore releases I've heard this year that would probably drag on too much if it were longer.

Unfortunately this record does drag on a bit too long. That said, it is still pretty solid punk-ish grind. I didn't love their s/t as much as other people, so this isn't really a disappointment, just kind of what I expected.

Pain
Musically kind of like Nails-lite, but with more 80s-hardcore-esque vocals. A little bland, but not bad.

08.26.16 | @Archelirion - Ha, yeah, I was kind of thinking that, too. Didn't want to compare it because they're nowhere near as technical or melodic as Gridlink, but they just kind of... feel similar in some intangible way.
@DanielNightLewis - Blurricane is the shit. They just started releasing music, so I'm really excited to hear how they progress.
