Okay, so you may not have noticed, but I deleted my Circle Takes the Square review.
It's going under some serious revision- in the meantime, I'm going to try and listen to some of CTTS' contemporaries... | | 1 | ...but who are they?? | | 2 | I'm looking for | | 3 | The kind of stuff that would influence CTTS | | 4 | Music that is in the same kind of scene. | | 5 | Hopefully this will help my perspective on the album more valid. | |

08.14.08 | Looking at your album ratings, I'd suggest you maybe try listening to some of the most subdued stuff first like Sed Non Satiata and The Kidcrash. They're fairly light in terms of heaviness but still retain the dissonance that characterizes the genre. (Sed Non Satiata is the current emo listening party, and The Kidcrash offer their music free for download and have got a couple of songs up on this site).
Then maybe try the stuff that got the post-rock influences in them like Envy (their latest album) and City of Caterpillar with slower, more ambient passages.
Then hit the less harsh American stuff like Joshua Fit for Battle, You And I and Neil Perry.
By the time you're listening to Orchid and p.99, maybe try out CTTS again =) | Cuban Pete
