Rik VII 08.15.16	Hm ... check Angra if you haven't already. They're awesome. Also, Gamma Ray, if you can handle Kai's voice (I personally can't stand his way of singing but that's all that I don't like about GR). First 2 Avantasia albums. Some more decent pm bands are Dark Moor and Serenity. nothing special though. power metal is totally hit and miss. Kamelot and Blind Guardian are among my favorite bands oat (though I have to disagree, I'll take goth cheese over dragon cheese every day of the week), and Pyramaze are pretty underrated. there's so much shit going on in this genre though.

If you want to get into Angra and want a straight-forward power metal album with some awesome instrumentation, give Angel's Cry a go. it's a fun album. if you want some more progressive stuff, Temple of Shadows is your place to go.

DungeonBoy 08.15.16	Temple of Silence is a superb album [2]. In my opinion it is their most solid album as a whole, but my favorite Angra songs exist across their first few albums.

Kamijo - Symphony of the Vampire (best PM ever, no question). Hibria - Defying the Rules Lost Horizon's both albums Versailles - Noble and Jubliee, their lives for Holy Grail and Jubliee are really nice too.

Glorfindel 09.09.16	Orphaned Land are a shout - I heard them a couple of years ago supporting Blind Guardian & I they were well received. Mabool is great & All Is One has a couple of decent songs too. I'm currently going through Avantasia - Ghostlights is great, The Metal Opera is fantastic though & well worth a listen. Agree with others here though - power metal seems to have died now.
