08.11.16 | Not a hardcore fan of the serie either, but it still is enjoyable and entertaining (for a netflix serie at least) so it's working for me. Rly good acting from the kids which does not happened every day, interesting story aswell. The only things that are really cringy and annoying is the highschool scenes with the cliché bullies and love story between the cute "smart" girl and cute "bad" guy but if you take that apart it's actually interesting and intense if you follow it until the end. |

The writing was great for the most part and the acting was solid too besides the kids who were pretty terrible. Loved the atmosphere in the second half of the season even though the story gets kinda hard to follow. |

08.11.16 | I think the whole point of the show is to suspend your disbelief and let the show get you caught up in it's story and world, if you try to hold it to the standard of modern day dramatic films it won't fit that mold and you will think it feels melodramatic or whatever.
Remember when you just watched movies and enjoyed them back in the day for pure entertainment? That's what this show is trying to capture and it does it excellently, loved the whole damn thing.
Honestly that even sells it short as the acting is excellent I thought, and I usually think these throwback films and shows just seem like rip-offs and miss the mark (Super 8, even though I still enjoyed it). |

08.12.16 | I think that this show is one of the best I've seen. It does a good job of executing tropes and cliches but also doesn't overplay them for the most part. The coolest thing to me about this show is that it is a different kind of genre basically for each set of characters. Also I think for the most part the acting is pretty good, of course there are some slip ups though here and there. Also the soundtrack is fucking amazing. |

That's what I didn't like at first as well, but I embraced the cheese and stereotypical 80's themes pretty quickly after and the show got better for me. I didn't think it was worth raving about, but pretty decent season. 8/10 |
