08.10.16 | Chronologically is probably best for an artist like Bowie with such a winding development of his sound. |
DoofusWainwright
08.10.16 | Outside is a lot of fun if you like sci fi noir vibes
Low is his best album so that's the most obviously essential |
Rik VII
08.10.16 | I think Heroes has the right balance of being a quality record and giving a nice overview of what he was best at |

08.10.16 | Chronological from when - the first three albums would have killed my interest in him dead if that was where I had started.
Chronological from Hunky Dory is an ok approach |
claygurnz
08.10.16 | Yeah was gonna say, his S/T has like a 2.5 average, might not be the best place to start. |

08.10.16 | chronologically is always a good choice, and in this case it's the only good one. bowie's music in itself is not good enough to recommend checking all of it, but it developed in interesting, unexpected ways. In other words the music itself is not great (the only essentials would be Low and "Heroes"), but its evolution - definitely. |

08.10.16 | 5 songs into the S/T and It's shaping up to be a hard 2 lol. |
rabidfish
08.10.16 | "only essentials"

08.10.16 | Hunky Dory upwards; there really isn't such a thing as a good starting point with someone like Bowie be ause everyone's experience with him will be completely different. My first 3 Bowie albums were The Man Who Sold the World, Earthling, and Young Americans |
wham49
08.10.16 | hunky Dory, Man who sold the world, Diamond Dogs,Low, Heroes, but also check Space Oddity I always liked it, but doesnt get much love on here |
