StarlessCore 07.22.16	idk i used to like dm better, now i kinda think im a bigger fan of bm, cause i rlly like most of the styles and subgenres within black metal you look at death metal and id say the worst deathcore and worst death metal is worse than even the gayest blackgaze

Sevengill 07.22.16	I see it as death metal being more craft and black metal being more art. DM bands are often about technical prowess and "wow!" moments in the songwriting, whereas BM focuses on the place the music brings you and is a more personal experience. There's obviously common ground, but I lean toward the less aggressive, natural-sounding side of metal. With that said, Revocation and Ulcerate rule.

Sevengill 07.22.16	The diversity is huge, and the line between "good" and "bad" is pretty blurry sometimes. Like, how would you describe the difference between Doomthrone and Lurker of Chalice to someone who's never heard black metal before? One's depressing, slow, croaky, and underproduced and the other is legendarily bad?

Sevengill 07.23.16	This list is for real according to my taste. There are plenty of most-influential or most-enduring BM album lists, but this one is my picks for the ten that I consider the best I've heard and keep coming back to.
