Ignimbrite
07.17.16 | these all come with the Ignimbrite seal of quality
Year of No Light - Ausserwelt [instrumental, droney, and epic; this is the kind of thing that begs to be jammed while you're standing in an open field with a bigass storm system approaching, winds building, clouds covering, etc.]
Bossk - Audio Noir [tasty-ass, hard-hitting, drop tuned riffs combined with soft parts that are actually really beautiful and not boring like pretty much 75% of other post-metal bands']
Eryn Non Dae. - Meliora [think Meshuggah meets Cult of Luna]
Omega Massif - Karpatia [like Pelican but heavy as fuck] |

07.17.16 | K can't believe it hasn't been said yet, but
GO LISTEN TO ROSETTA.
The Galilean Satellites, with headphones. It is a double album that, when played together at the same time, sync up to make the most sonically devastating thing I've ever heard. Close your eyes and get fucking crushed. Oh by the way - their next two albums are flawless too.
After that, here's some standout songs to find bands you like:
Mouth of the Architect - No One Wished to Settle Here
The Atlas Moth - Holes in the Desert

07.17.16 | Thanks for all the recs, sounds like it's gonna take me a month lol |

07.17.16 | If it helps, I second Intronaut and Giant Squid hard. They're two bands I've stuck with for almost a decade now and are also great dudes (and dudettes, in GS's case). The Ichthyologist is probably my all-time favorite album. |

07.17.16 | ^ Although I would say those two are a couple of the "tougher" post metal listens - a lot going in the music. Check out East Of The Wall if you want a rec in similar vein. |
