DRUMMERS THAT INSPIRED ME TO PLAY

If you didn't know, I've been a drummer for the past ten years of my life and have been playing double bass for the past 5 months. I was never given formal lessons and always had a knack for rhythm. These are the drummers that inspired me to play!
1Phil Collins
...But Seriously

I've been a fan of Genesis and Phil Collins all my life, and he was the first drummer to inspire me. I was always impressed by the fact he can play really good AND sing at the same time.
2Slayer
Reign in Blood

Dave Lombardo was the man that made me want to play faster music. In fact, my first drum kit was a PDP double drive shell pack. Even with about 5 years under my belt, I was awful at double bass at the time, and it took me until my second kit when I started to actually play double bass.
3Exodus
Fabulous Disaster

Tom Hunting was the man who inspired me to learn triplets since I was so impressed by his technique. He literally does it better than any thrash drummer out there.
4Led Zeppelin
Houses of the Holy

John Bonham inspired me to learn different techniques of drum tuning and getting different tones and pitches with my drum kit. Sounds odd, but he knew how to make his drums sing, and it reflected with his groovy play style.
5Black Sabbath
Paranoid

Bill Ward was the drummer that inspired me to focus on "groove" in my playing. If you listen to enough Sabbath, you'll "feel" his influence on the music with his charismatic drum fills and groovy style.
