07.04.16 | fuck the tories
and fuck the alp too tbh
but the greens have no idea
and all of the other options are either so inconsequential or wacky that really there are no other options
hoping for either an alp majority (won't happen, but I can dream), or an lnp minority such that they are entirely impotent.
either way, I'm looking forward to watching the lnp implode over the next 3 years. |

07.04.16 | fair enough tbh, but I struggle to hold any faith in australian media considering how biased and unreliable it has become, so I've been sticking to that aec count for the most part.
it's a lose-lose for the immediate future of australia but, assuming lnp implode like I expect them to, it could be a win for our long-term political and economic future. |

07.04.16 | I have gripes with the entire political system and how it creates such a strong dichotomy between both parties and their policies. I know it was structured like this to help ensure that both remain accountable and scrutinized for their decisions but you end up having two black and white parties expected to have completely opposing ideals debating over grey topics instead of working constructively with each other for the best possible outcome. The whole thing seems sort of childish to me.
Also the way its set up ministers are pressured to appease the australian people in the short term even if they know damn well that what they're actions or policies are not in the long-term interest of the country. Just as long as they can hold their position long enough to become elligible for the life long financial benefits right? |

07.04.16 | I wouldn't say there's that much of a dichotomy between the parties when they're both right-leaning... a lot of the disagreement between the parties is merely rhetorical, and when it comes to governing, there are only a sparse few differences between the alp and lnp.
I do have to agree that the two-party system is fundamentally flawed though. an election shouldn't be a "lesser of two evils" kind of scenario. |
