What Should I Bump to a 5??

Ok so my friend and I were talking last night and we both agreed that for an album to be considered "perfect" there should be no bad songs/songs we dislike on the album. This got me thinking about my sputnik ratings and I only have two albums 5'd because I'm very particular about giving out "perfect" ratings. I wonder if any of my 4.5s are eligible to be 5s though. List is possible contenders and chances I will 5 each album.
1American Football
American Football

okay so the atmosphere on this thing is perfect and I find myself always coming back to it but I'm not sure if I love all of the songs on here tbh. the instrumentals are amazing but I feel like there's one or two I could live without....
Chances: 4.5/10
2A Great Big Pile of Leaves
Have You Seen My Prefrontal Cortex?

If there's any album to get me into a good mood it's this one. Looking at all the tracks though there's one or two I would skip as this is a bit long for an album. However this band grew on me a lot over the past couple of months so I could see all of these songs becoming classics for me
Chances: 6/10
3Bay Faction
Bay Faction

Ok love this album but a couple things are holding me back. First off the lyrics are hit or miss on each song. Secondly, I love the catchiness of the album but it does get a bit too same-y. Thirdly this was always in between a 4 and 4.5 for me so I doubt I'll 5 it.
Chances: 1.5/10
4Brand New
Daisy

Wow this album has grown on me so much over the past year. I think I originally had it at a 3.5 tbh and it's jumped to a 4.5 which is impressive. I find myself listening to this more than Deja tbh but Be Gone is such a stupid song that it's holding me back from 5-ing it. Also Bed is a bit boring and Bought a Bride is a bit too simplistic.
Chances: 5.5/10
5Bright Eyes
I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning

Honestly haven't listened to this album in full in awhile. Looking at the tracklist though I definitely am not a fan of the more twangy, folky songs like Train Under Water and We Are Nowhere And It's Now. Still a fantastic, beautiful album though.
Chances: 2/10
6Bright Eyes
Fevers & Mirrors

This is my favorite Bright Eyes album so I would probably 5 it before I 5 I'm Wide Awake. Again, haven't listened to it in full in awhile and as I look at the tracklist I'm not the biggest fan of A Scale, A Mirror And Those...also there's a couple songs that are good but are either too average or dont standout enough for me.
Chances: 3.5/10
7Childish Gambino
Because the Internet

I've said this before on here but this is my favorite rap album of all time. So varied, so interesting, and so well put together in my opinion. It has bangers, it has r&b inspired stuff, it has experimental stuff, and it has poppy fun stuff. Only issue is the interludes which I could do without and the last two tracks blend in together too much that I always forget which one is which. He could've picked a way better closer than Life IMO but this is one of the closest albums I would 5 tbh.
Chances: 7.5/10
8Clever Girl
No Drum And Bass in the Jazz Room

Favorite math rock album. however the second track I really don't like too much but everything else is perfect, especially the first track. I couldn't ever see myself 5ing this though because I'm not the biggest math rock fan tbh.
Chances: 1.25/10
9Damien Rice
O

Oh man speaking of albums I haven't listened to in awhile....honestly I might have to listen to this again to get a better sense of if I should 5 it or not but looking at the tracks Eskimo I'm not the biggest fan of (but the hidden track is perfect). Amie is also not the strongest track in my opinion but I could like it more with another listen tbh.
Chances: 3.25/10
10Damien Rice
My Favourite Faded Fantasy

I think I like O better but I haven't revisited this album in awhile. Really the only issue with this album is that the standouts are so amazing (It Takes a Lot to Know a Man especially) that the other tracks seem not so great by comparison and don't stand out at all. Will have to give it another listen though for sure.
Chances: 1.75/10
11Elliott Smith
Either/Or

Now this is an artist I have listened to recently for sure. Went on an Elliott binge after seeing his documentary (which is amazing I highly rec it to any Elliott Smith fan). I'm pretty sure I bumped this from a 4 to 4.5 after the documentary so bumping it to a 5 is possible if it grows even more. There's one or two songs that are not as memorable as I would like them to be (Pictures of Me and Punch and Judy in particular I think) but every song I'm pretty sure I at least enjoy. Definitely a better than average chance.
Chances: 5.25/10
12Elliott Smith
XO

This used to be my favorite Elliott Smith album because of the pop appeal to it and the fuller band sound. Now that I listen to it, however, I think I prefer his earlier work. Love the beatles influence but I think it's overdone sometimes. I could honestly see myself bumping this to a 4 before I bump it to a 5. Not a fan of Tomorrow Tomorrow, Baby Britain, and Amity not to mention the couple of songs that are just average.
Chances: 1.66/10
13Foxing
Dealer

This grew a lot on me last year. My review for it was a 4 and now it's a 4.5 obviously. i think this album peaked at the end of 2015, however, as I return to it but not as much as I used to. I still really dislike Laundered as I think it's too boring. Great album still though
Chances: 3/10
14Free Throw
Those Days Are Gone

Love love love this album so much because of the highlights! Pallet Town, Two Beers In, and Tongue Tied are some of my favorite emo songs for sure. However I think those really carry the album as the other tracks are not as memorable. Might have to relisten though because I only really listen to half the tracks on here regularly. Can't think of a song I dislike however
Chances: 4/10
15Jank
Awkward Pop Songs

All the actual songs on here are so so fun and really amazing I don't skip any of them. I talked about this in my review for this album but if they took themselves just a biiiiiiit more seriously then this would prob be a 5. Can't justify 5ing it because it's a bit too jokey and i could see this album growing off of me hard as I get older and older. Right now though it's amazing except for Loading Screen which is so annoying.
Chances: 3.5 to 4.5/10
16Kanye West
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

a couple months ago my roommate and I went over every Kanye album and counted the songs we liked/loved not including the skits. This album scored the highest obviously for both of us. It also helps that I saw him live when he was touring for this masterpiece. I could honestly see myself 5ing this as I love every song. Only issue is that I don't listen to it in full nearly as often as my other 5s and Devil in a New Dress I always forget about
6.75/10
17Kendrick Lamar
good kid, m.A.A.d city

Okay so here's an album I KNOW I should love but I really don't love as much as I think I should if that makes any sense (made a list about this a week ago). Looking at the tracklist I like every song but I only listen to the first half tbh because of the more popular songs. Like I can't honestly say I've listened to the last three songs in the past year which is sad. Might have to relisten but if I 5 it I feel like it wouldn't be a truthful 5.
Chances: 2.25/10
18Kendrick Lamar
To Pimp a Butterfly

This album hit me harder than good kid tbh. Mortal Men never fails to give me chills and I think this is his best album. Only issue is that I honestly don't enjoy a couple of tracks because of the hooks. Institutionalized, Complexion, and You Ain't Gotta Lie I always skip. Not bashing them but they just don't do it for me. Maybe I need to relisten though so who knows
Chances: 4.25/10
19Marietta
Summer Death

Gotta do a review for this album tbh...been meaning to for so long. I can't name a song I dislike on here and it might be my favorite emo album ever. The real test is if I love the album around August which is when I first started really enjoying this album. It would be three years in a row if I do and I think that would be justification enough.
Chances: 8/10
20Minus the Bear
Planet of Ice

Relistened to this a day ago and I honestly might bump it down to a 4. Really enjoyed it but not as much as I used to.
Chances: .75/10
21Modest Mouse
The Lonesome Crowded West

ok so this is the album that came up in my friend and I's conversation. he referenced it as his perfect album but the only song that holds me back is Jesus Christ Was an Only Child which I really don't enjoy. we both agreed it has the best streak of three songs though (Trailer Trash, Doin the Cockroach, and Cowboy Dan).
Chances: 6.25/10
22Patrick Watson
Close To Paradise

Would honestly have to relisten. Love almost every song but a couple are forgettable if I remember correctly. also I feel like there's a really strange song on here that I didn't enjoy. Love the atmosphere on here though
Chances: 3.75/10
23Radiohead
The Bends

nostalgia lol. i feel like I have grown out of Radiohead tbh. prob my favorite album by them still but I skip a couple tracks.
Chances: 2.5/10
24Radiohead
OK Computer

same thing as above tbh.
Chances: 2.33/10
25Sigur Ros
( )

Wow haven't listened to this in full in so long. Never was the biggest post-rock fan though but the climaxes on this thing are pure bliss. Would love to listen again soon. I can see this being the perfect post rock album but not a perfect album overall tbh.
Chances: 3/10
26Silversun Pickups
Carnavas

Absolutely adore this band. Love this album as well and there's only really one or two average songs on here (Melatonin and Checkered Floor...maybe Waste it On). If I had to 5 a SSPU album though this would be it.
Chances: 5/10
27Snowing
Fuck Your Emotional Bullshit

Perfect EP honestly. but Idk if I wanna consider an ep an album yknow? also Kirk Cameron Crowe is a bit too average. If I wasn't so picky about things I could maybe see myself 5ing it
Chances: 5.33/10
28Snowing
I Could Do Whatever I Wanted If I Wanted

I like the EP better so Idk if this has a chance. I also hate the line "I was 20 when I had my first beer" and that whole song for some reason. The closing song is absolutely perfect though and makes me sad these guys broke up.
Chances: 2/10
29The Hotelier
Home, Like NoPlace Is There

Favorite album by these guys although Goodness comes close. I've been so close to 5ing this for so long tbh but there's just something holding me back idk what. I might have to give it a few more months but this is prob the most likely album. Can't name a song I dislike and I honestly love everyone's least fav song, Housebroken.
Chances: 9/10
30The Hotelier
Goodness

I like Home better and there's too many flaws with this album for me to justify 5ing it. Ashcrash did a good job of highlighting them so read his review. Hate the intro poem and not the biggest fan of You in this Light.
Chances: 1.66/10
31Tigers Jaw
Tigers Jaw

One of the first emo albums I listened to and this jams so fucking hard like wow. So much fun and I can't name a track I dislike. second half of the album is not as great but if I tried to pick a song I dont like I wouldn't be able to.
Chances: 7.75/10
32Weezer
Pinkerton

best Weezer album. however there's a couple tracks that I think are just average. This is another album that is just barely a 4.5 so Idk if it would ever be a 5 for me.
Chances: 1/10
