| My top 5 The Cure albums
The Cure indefinitely being my favorite band to ever conceive music, while not perfect, has created some of the most noteworthy tunes in my lifetime. I was born in 93, so I didn't have the chance to experience The Cure era, but with an older brother who was more hipster than even I am, I was introduced to a wide variety of music at an early age. The Cure gave me my fascination with dark settings in and out of music. Later on, I took up guitar with inspiration from Robert Smith. He's also influenced a huge portion of my songwriting and software productions. Still to this day, I always finding myself listening to The Cure for whatever ails me. | 1 | | The Cure Disintegration
This probably comes as no surprise. I feel as though Robert Smith and the gang perfected their sound in this album. Even though that's completely debatable as The Cure doesn't have one sound to abide by. The track "Disintegration" is probably my favorite off this wonderful work of black magic. | 2 | | The Cure Pornography
Nothing can muster such malice emotions for me, as "Pornography" can. It's bizarre, depressing, enlightening, and suffering all wrapped together into an album that will surely manifest something dark in everyone. "A Strange Day" easily tops my favorite song in this album, and maybe my favorite Cure song of all time. That's debatable, though. | 3 | | The Cure Wish
Can The Cure catch lightning in a bottle, twice? Some would argue that they couldn't, but I beg to differ. With "Friday I'm In Love" being one of their most successful singles of all time (But nowhere near the best example of their work), I'd say The Cure hit the tip of their career with "Wish". The album offers some truly sublime tunes. It strays almost completely from any influence from "Disintegration", and follows a different approach. Tracks like "A Letter To Elise" and "To Wish Impossible Things" show The Cure in a limelight in their career that almost feels haunting to look back on. The track "From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea" is easily my favorite track on this album, and also contends to be one of my favorite Cure songs. Superb songwriting and that guitar rift. Oh my god. lol | 4 | | The Cure The Head on the Door
The album that brought The Cure out of obscurity. And if you thought The Cure couldn't do pop, then you underestimated them. An excellent listen with "The Blood" being my favorite track on the album. | 5 | | The Cure Bloodflowers
Yes, I'm not afraid to admit that I love this album. And I sadly admit that this is album is extremely underrated. Some argue that The Cure lost direction with "Bloodflowers". I personally believe that The Cure has demonstrated that they are well indeed familiar with exploring new sounds and approaches, and Bloodflowers is no exception. It's a gem in it's own right, and i recommend anyone give it a listen. "The Loudest Sound" is my favorite track on this one. Such a slow melodic tune that easily sways me. | |

05.20.16 | Nice selection, blood flowers is definitely underrated. You couldn't go wrong with three imaginary boys or faith either. | MrGarland
05.20.16 | @ConcubinaryCode It was a tough decision to choose between those and Bloodflowers for number 5. | ConcubinaryCode
05.20.16 | I'd say BF is a more refined experience than either. A culmination of all their work that matches moody atmospheres with some of their pop sensibilities. Plus it just straight up rocks at points; watching me fall is a good example for that. | MrGarland
05.20.16 | @ConcubinaryCode You nailed it. Robert said that Bloodflowers was The Cure's most self-defining album. And in a way, i can see that being true. | BMDrummer
