03.09.16 | from the clip i saw, nine inch nails was outstanding live during the 90s. still seem like an amazing live band definitely wanna go to one of their shows at some point. |
Hep Kat
03.09.16 | lol no |
Log S.
03.09.16 | Faith No More, then and now |
Mesm277
03.09.16 | NIN, Rammstein, Muse, Porcupine Tree, Opeth and also Steel Panther before they became a parody of themselves. Aerosmith were also a big surprise for me a few years ago. |
hesperus
03.09.16 | Top band is probably Deafheaven, George Clarke has an incredible stage presence. Others that would make the list are Melt-Banana, Converge, Torche, At the Drive-In, M83, and maybe Frank Ocean. |
grindcorecore
03.09.16 | enter shikari was a fun time |
ArsMoriendi
03.09.16 | Primus was really great live. |
MadDemonofConfusion
03.09.16 | Rush, Soundgarden, Sabbath, NIN, Judas Priest (my first concert). And yeah Primus for sure. Also saw Television and they played every song off marquee moon that was fantastic |
barcafan21
03.09.16 | sufjan, manchester orchestra, titus andronicus, wilco are probably the best live acts i've seen
|
Trebor.
03.09.16 | Recently, Motion City Soundtrack |

03.09.16 | Haven't seen him in person but Kendrick seems to have a pretty crazy live thing going on |
MO
03.09.16 | Origin is sick live |
InFlamesWeThrash666
03.09.16 | Septicflesh are great live |
BeyondCosby
03.09.16 | I've always been hesitant about seeing the Deftones because every video I've seen of them live shows that Chino struggling with the vocals. But I bet when he's on top of his game it's a killer show.
Coheed is always spot on.
Protest the Hero is great not only musically but because of Rody's in between song banter.
Thank You Scientist was also a damn good time, especially given the lead singer's tea-bag dance moves. |
Nazzadan
03.09.16 | Prince was really good when I saw him, A Day to Remember actually put on a good show, Children of Bodom played a great extended set at a tour I saw them on because AILD didn't show up, Tim was legit adopting a puppy back at home or something so they blew the concert off. |
Feather
03.09.16 | Muse and Coheed were both awesome live and I am not a huge fan of either of them really.
A Day to Remember and Twenty One Pilots also both throw awesome shows even though neither I listen to much of.
Jeff Mangum played an amazing set when I saw him, it was like a religious experience.
The Decemberists were great to see live.
Brand New plays great live but they dont interact with the crowd, they just play real well.
These are just some highlights that come to mind. Most concerts I go to are just fun ones that arent over the top amazing. |
Middle18
03.09.16 | I have seen Muse a couple of times, the Black holes tour was amazing.. The Resistance tour not so much.
Oh I forgot to put The Prodigy in the top 5 they put on a brilliant show everytime! |
Feather
03.09.16 | @middle I actually didn't see Muse until the 2nd law tour. I wish I had caught the black holes tour. Although I didnt like the 2nd law much at all, they were amazing live and had great presence. |
Snake.
03.09.16 | coheed |
TheSonomaDude
03.09.16 | Marty Friedman |
BAT
03.09.16 | saw origin around the release of antithesis at summer slaughter, played like 2nd or 3rd ahead of like necrophagist/faceless/suffo/beneaththemassacre/ect. crowd was basically a buncha wtf blank stares but they killed that shit. cuz someone aleady mentioned origin i'll give defeated sanity a nod. nonmetal i'll give to ummm, gorillaz. |
furyroad97
03.10.16 | Iron Maiden & Sunn O))) probably count, I heard they kick ass live. I'm actually gonna be seeing Maiden in Sydney in a couple months. |
DoofusWainwright
03.10.16 | Sigur Ros I've seen twice - both times incredible
Deftones I've also seen twice - once great, once the f'cking pits
Saw Down at a festival and they probably weren't at their best
Favourites:
- The National
- Anathema
- Deerhunter
- Faith No More
- Sigur Ros
- Wild Beasts
- Amen
- The Prodigy
- Mercury Rev
- Fear Factory
- RATM
- Bowie |
Shemson
03.10.16 | Yes Cosby, came here to say exactly that about Protest The Hero, great show with genuinely great between-song-banter.
Also Opeth at festivals are great because Mikael knows they shouldn't be playing 10 minute metal epics at festivals and has a great dry sense of humour. |
DinosaurJones
03.10.16 | GLASSJAWWWW |
Feather
03.10.16 | @Dino can't lie I saw glassjaw about a week ago and was not overly impressed |
barcafan21
03.10.16 | i second brand new and twenty one pilots, feather |
Sinternet
03.10.16 | MewithoutYou, Deerhunter, TWIABP, Rise Against were all fantastic when i saw them
Really hope to see Modest Mouse at some point, heard a lot of good stuff about their live performances |
Feather
03.10.16 | @sinternet Im hoping to catch Brand New and Modest Mouse together on their current tour, just gotta find a way to get tickets.. |
Feather
03.10.16 | @sinternet when did you see TWIABP? I saw them a couple months back in support of their newest album and they didn't blow me away. BUT, one of their members (girl singer i believe) couldn't sing because she was sick. They also didnt play Heartbeat which made me sad. |
UpwardSpiral
03.10.16 | I've not been to many concerts, but both mewithoutYou and Brand New were amazing. |
Sinternet
03.10.16 | Yeah that tour looks insane wish they'd bring it to the UK.
I saw them about a month ago, the female vocals really do add a lot to their newer material. They were really captivating throughout and their setlist had pretty much all their fan favourites + newer stuff |
Feather
03.10.16 | @sinter when I saw them they had a really short set and no female vocals so that may have been the issue :/ Maybe I'll give them another try sometime.
Im jealous of anyone who has seen mewithoutyou, I'd imagine they're awesome live |
UpwardSpiral
03.10.16 | That co-headlining concert with mewithoutYou and TWIABP was really weird. After mewithoutYou left, more than half of the people that were in the venue also left. In the end about 20 people were standing in front of the stage and about 15 were sitting on the platform during TWIABP. |
Feather
03.10.16 | @upward even with them co-headlining, I'd assume that TWIABP should have always played before mewithoutyou... they seem to have a smaller fan base/be a little more less accessible. |
EvoHavok
03.10.16 | Dark Tranquillity, Therion, Motorhead (RIP). |
Piglet
03.10.16 | System of a Down was by far the most fun I've ever had |
barcafan21
03.10.16 | modest mouse was ok, i saw them at a festival and they mostly played new stuff which was meh, also isaac brock's stage presence is predictably weird in a slightly uncomfortable way |
barcafan21
03.10.16 | mewithoutyou came to my city twice and i didnt see them either time and i regret it so much |
Feather
03.10.16 | Yeah, I'm really not the biggest MM fan, but I feel like everyone else seems to love them so I figured theyd be good to see live |
onionbubs
03.10.16 | i really dig the moon and antartica tho.
have always wanted to see incubus. anyone overall know how they are? |
YakNips
03.10.16 | godspeed hands down put on the best show i've seen |
dbizzles
03.10.16 | I've seen plenty of bands multiple times and the band that is most consistent with their sound quality and set lists is Portugal. The Man. If any of you like them and haven't made it to a show, try to change that this year. |
Feather
03.10.16 | I missed godspeed :/ |
trve
03.10.16 | suicidal tendencies by far |
Asdfp277
03.10.16 | The Gathering |
DoofusWainwright
03.10.16 | godspeed weirdly put on the worst show I've ever seen, caught them about five years ago and it was 95% drone, a distracted crowd chatting and playing with their phones and the band just sat on stage. Was more watching paint drying than paint peeling noise |
Middle18
03.10.16 | @Doofuswainwright glad you agree about sigur rós they are just awe inspiring! I see that you have witnessed the Prodigy? Another band that excells in a live setting.
Anyone seen Sunn0)))) live? I missed an opportunity to see them. I bet they are an experience and a half! |
DoofusWainwright
03.10.16 | Middle18 - first time I saw them was at the Brixton Academy in support of Takk and they played behind a backlit screen for the first part of the set, was a cool touch.
Second time was at Alexandra Palace and played a really long strong set, the uptempo 'Spilum Endalaust' material really added something |
lyzakthellama
03.10.16 | Sigur ros, godspeed, brand new, sleater kinney and bjork (by far the coolest experience I've ever had) are the best shows ive been to |
Middle18
03.11.16 | Doofus- I seen them at the Eden Project in Cornwall, was such a beautiful setting to see them outside and surrounded by nature. If you don't know the place look it up, it was light when they started and they played into the summer night it was just magic. |
Cryptkeeper
03.11.16 | Aversions Crown, they interact so well with the audience.
Same goes for Havok. |
DoofusWainwright
03.11.16 | Middle - I've heard of the Eden Project yeah, sounds a great place to watch a band like SR |
Asdfp277
03.11.16 | The Gathering [2] |
