My Top Ten Folk Albums (Also rec me some Folk)

Just a list of my favourite folk albums. Also wouldn't mind a few recs if you have any.
10Joanna Newsom
The Milk-Eyed Mender

At First, I hated her voice, but it grew on me really quickly. I bought this album a few years ago, based on the cover, and at first, I felt like I'd wasted my money, but now I really appreciate it.
9Sun Kil Moon
Benji

An introspective and touching collection of ramblings, conversations, fears and lonely thoughts of a middle aged man, getting through life.
8Owen
At Home With Owen

Mellow album from one of the minds behind American Football and Cap'n Jazz. Nice mix of Emo and Folk.
7Current 93
All the Pretty Little Horses

Depressing, eerie, and unsettling, but amazing.
6Belle and Sebastian
If You're Feeling Sinister

The benchmark for Indie Folk.
5Joni Mitchell
Court and Spark

An album I think gets overshadowed by Blue, but deserves to be listened to as much as, if not more than it.
4The Tallest Man on Earth
Shallow Grave

I love the vocals, banjo work and just the feeling behind this album.
3Nick Drake
Pink Moon

I don't need to say anything about this album. It's a classic. Considered one of the greatest Folk albums of all time, and for a reason.
2John Martyn
Solid Air

My first real introduction to Folk music was hearing a live version of the title track to this. A wonderful Folk album, with elements of Jazz and Blues that give John Martyn's music a character and uniqueness to it that a lot of other artists can never fully achieve. His deep, soothing voice moves the album along fantastically.
1Emma Ruth Rundle
Some Heavy Ocean

This album connects with me on a way only a few albums do. It's a perfect little album, at around 30 minutes. It starts off sweetly, hits the emotional and musical peak right in the middle, and ends on a dark, sombre note that I just love.
