| Best Of 2008 (so Far)
I havn't liked that many albums this year. Give me some suggestions. Here is what i love so far. | 1 | | Dance Gavin Dance Dance Gavin Dance
After all the drama this band has gone through and especially loosing the incredible voice of Jonny Craig they still pull off an amazing album. The album shows that they are a great band and deserve more respect than they get. Guitar work is incredible, bass is solid, drums are really good, and the vocals are probably some of the most heartfelt i have ever heard.
Best Tracks: Alex English, Caviar (featuring Chino Moreno), and People You Know | 2 | | Cambiata To Heal
The small unsigned band from maine that i rant and rave about on my lists has once again blown me away. This E.P., though short contains some of the most original music i've ever heard. The songs demonstrate incredible dynamics and the use of horns and violins add a sense of "epicness" that leaves the listener just plain happy.
Best Tracks: All In All Julie, Purple, Roswell | 3 | | Lower Definition The Greatest of All Lost Arts
Though this band isn't incredibly special something about them stands out. Though they do use breakdowns (something forsaken with most users on this site) is never gets repetitive. The drumming is amazing probably the best for the genre. And plus a Guest Vocal from Jonny Craig does give bonus points.
Best Tracks: The Ocean The Beast, Pueblo Cicada, The Weatherman | 4 | | Jacobi Wichita Bonez Malone
This band is incredible. They take about 10,000,000 genres and blend it into an incredible and epic album. This band is unsigned but they will not be for too long. Do yourself and favor and check them out. There is something for everyone.
Best Tracks: Belly Up, Hey Hey Hey... Take It Easy, Violets aren't blue, they're violet. | 5 | | Emarosa Relativity
Yes i am a Jonny Craig Fanboy but this cd is only on here because 2008 hasn't been a good year for me musically. This album isn't bad it's just devoid of anything spectacular. If you like Jonny Craig you'll like it. If you aren't sure just go to the myspace and listen to set it off like napalm to make up your mind
Best Tracks: The Past Should Stay Dead, Set It Off Like Napalm, Pretend. Release. The Close | |
