BEST OF 2015
Here are my favorites from 2015 |
13 | | The Story So Far The Story So Far
I would have to say this is their weakest album in the discography but still a good release. Parker being Parker and the band still not doing anything spectacular instrumentally. |
12 | | Four Year Strong Four Year Strong
Hell of a comeback for these guys seeing how their last record was absolute crap. ALMOST On par with their debut release Rise or Die Tryin'. |
11 | | Turnover Peripheral Vision
Excellent release by these guys with this band also making the switch to a dream pop sound. What held this album back for me was there was some filler on it. Hoping their next effort will mix dream pop with their emo sound from Magnolia. |
10 | | Title Fight Hyperview
Loving the dream pop/shoegaze genre switch these guys made. I was hooked on this album for almost a month straight but it seems like the shelf life on this thing was pretty short-lived. Still a great effort imo. |
9 | | CHON Grow
Mostly instrumental math rock with shimmering guitar tones and melodies that are to die for. |
8 | | Mac DeMarco Another One
I really don't think this guy can make bad music at the moment.. his music is just so damn infectious and puts you in such a great mood. |
7 | | Nai Harvest Hairball
Reminiscent of acts like Japandroids.. this LP was simple yet AMAZING. Loved the hooks on this thing even if it does come off repetitive at some moments. |
6 | | Last Dinosaurs Wellness
Elements of dream pop, pop rock, and dance music thrown in together. This album was insanely catchy with little-to-no filler. |
5 | | It Prevails Perdition
Not as good as Stroma but still a hell of a release and this is what got me interested into delving deep into their catalog. Catchy hooks, great melodic riffs, and uplifting lyricism, It prevails shows they are a force to be reckoned with in the metalcore/hardcore genre. |
4 | | The Front Bottoms Back On Top
Witty/hilarious lyricism, catchy guitar/synth leads, and just one banging hook after another-I was hooked on this thing for weeks and am still playing it and loving it. |
3 | | Neck Deep Life's Not Out To Get You
This UK outfit really surprised me on this one. Never really liked this band but this is slowly becoming one of my favorite pop punk releases of ALL time. Hats off to these guys. |
2 | | Toro Y Moi What For?
This album was insanely catchy and I think it's Chaz's best work yet. I still listen to this album almost every night before I go to bed. The shelf life on this thing will be extremely long. |
1 | | Funeral Advantage Body is Dead
What a great debut from these guys-mixing dream pop with emo and pulling it off fantastically. my AOTY |
