BallsDeep
11.19.15 | I've got far too much time on my hands |
Archelirion
11.19.15 | Oceanic, erryday. |
BandNewbac
11.19.15 | Yeah i think most people will say Oceanic. |
BallsDeep
11.19.15 | 4-0 for Oceanic is the official tally so far incase any of you were wondering |
Artuma
11.19.15 | what a ridiculous comparison
but oceanic obviously |
evilford
11.19.15 | oceanic |
chemicalmarriage
11.19.15 | Leviathan |
BallsDeep
11.19.15 | ^Determined to be different aren't you |
rockandmetaljunkie
11.19.15 | does it matter which album is the best ? |
Spacesh1p
11.19.15 | Oceanic but Leviathan still rules. |
chemicalmarriage
11.19.15 | It's my opinion ya ass jack |
Spacesh1p
11.19.15 | No it doesn't matter but why not have a little bit of friendly conversation, rockandmetaljunkie? |
Flugmorph
11.19.15 | How could you ever compare these? |
BallsDeep
11.19.15 | @rockandmetaljunkie
well by that logic do any lists on this site matter? |
rockandmetaljunkie
11.19.15 | ^ no, not really... |
BallsDeep
11.19.15 | @Flugmorph
2 critically acclaimed oceanic-themes albums released within a couple years of each other by american prog metal bands... although I admit they don't sound very similar at all. |
SharkTooth
11.19.15 | Oceanic
duh
anyway TSIB>either |
Artuma
11.19.15 | oceanic is far from "prog" |
BallsDeep
11.19.15 | i guess some people enjoy conversing with others online about music which their mates may not be into |
Flugmorph
11.19.15 | And thats the only thing that counts imo. The music |
adr
11.19.15 | Oceanic |
evilford
11.19.15 | anyway TSIB>either [2] |
BallsDeep
11.19.15 | yeah idk how do people compare the big 4 - they hardly sound alike either? I'm just asking which one people prefer overall |
BallsDeep
11.19.15 | I've listened to TSIB atleast 30 time through and I still can't get into it (except for the title track and eye) how many more hours of my life do I have to throw at it? |
Flugmorph
11.19.15 | You're not chosen just let it be.
I would prefer oceanic by a small margin |
Flugmorph
11.19.15 | My experience with neurosis began with enemy of the sun and it blew my mind right on the first listen tbh.
It was just meant to be |
Flugmorph
11.19.15 | TSIB took a bit for me too tbh |
DungeonBoy
11.19.15 | this is not even a contest. |
BallsDeep
11.19.15 | haha I used to believe that you shouldn't ever have to force yourself to listen to music that you don't initially enjoy but albums like Oceanic amongst others have put that theory to rest so I'll give Neurosis' other stuff a spin. |
Flugmorph
11.19.15 | Check the two albums prior to tsib then |
MyNameIsPencil
11.19.15 | Leviathan but comparing these 2 is like comparing apples to cherries god damn |
BallsDeep
11.19.15 | 10-2 Oceanic this one's a real nail bitter |
trve
11.19.15 | times of grace tbh |
Flugmorph
11.19.15 | Is overrated |
Ocean of Noise
11.19.15 | why would you even compare these two albums lol but Oceanic is way better |
Flugmorph
11.19.15 | I might do so tonight yes |
BallsDeep
11.19.15 | yeah i might just listen to them chronologically or would that be the wrong way to do it |
Flugmorph
11.19.15 | No. Just know that the first two records are crust punk but still great |
evilford
11.19.15 | most people say it took them a while to get into TSIB. it completely blew me away the first time I heard it. |
trve
11.19.15 | tsib wore off of me rather quickly, enemy of the sun and times of grace still slay |
BallsDeep
11.19.15 | I wouldn't necessarily say to dense, I'm pretty accustomed to extreme metal but it just seems a bit too erratic. the song 'strength of fates' for example is almost painful to sit through for some reason. I find bands like Portal and Cattle Decapitation more digestible haha if this album was intended to be abrasive (which it was) then it succeeded |
Flugmorph
11.19.15 | strengh of fates is an eargasm from front to back |
BallsDeep
11.19.15 | I'm inclined to agree with you to fit in here but I just don't hear it that way, yet. |
Avagantamos
11.19.15 | oceanic and it's not even fucking close |
Sevengill
11.19.15 | These are legit my two favorite albums ever. I couldn't pick if I had to.
Leviathan because it's way behind. |
Totengott
11.19.15 | Oceanic, easily. |
AnimalsAsSummit
11.20.15 | Oceanic |
UnderTheNorthernScar
11.20.15 | Oceanic is better but I can listen to Leviathan for 40 minutes and maintain attention to it the whole time |
Hawks
11.20.15 | I love Leviathan, but yeah Oceanic. |
deathschool
11.20.15 | Oceanic, but Isis has better albums. |
BallsDeep
11.20.15 | 17 - 3 |
Artuma
11.20.15 | seems about right |
Oceandrowned
07.13.16 | Oceanic hands down. Best metal album ever maybe? Thou i dont like post metal anymore(BM is where the best stuff), this is not dying over the years. Such a powerfull album it is. |
Oceandrowned
07.13.16 | All those current post metal bands are jokes. Cult lulus and co has become some girly music with gimmicks. |
Ryus
07.13.16 | oceanic
leviathan is not good |
wwf
07.13.16 | Oceanic oh my god so much oceanic. Leviathan isnt that great |
BallsDeep
07.13.16 | Yeah possibly, i could've picked that from looking at your profile though haha
I can't say I agree with you about Cult of Luna though I think they're a great band and a pillar of post metal, their 3rd and 4th albums probably fall in my top 10 post metal albums. |
Oceandrowned
07.13.16 | Bro, i meant present cult of luna. Their first 4 albums are all great, but their later stuff is unbearable. When i said luna and co, i meant julzy cxristmas or whatever that annoying girl is. |
