11.17.15 | yeah they usually do, once you rip that top off though its just a case of finding a drive that fits with a SATA connection and SATA power and its pretty easy to do. more often than not its the drives that are the problem anyway. |

03.15.16 | it's almost certainly the hard drive, there's not really that much else that can be wrong with it from what I know, unless your screen died or something but if the iPod itself isn't turning on it'd be the hard drive
they can be replaced and you should be able to save the music but from what I hear from people who actually know what they're talking about, apple devices are fiddly little shits in that respect |
