11.05.15 | cool movies.
Dogtooth had a cool message but I think it got lost. Cool, but immature. Alps, on the other hand, were much better. I want to see The Lobster as well. Heard really positive reviews. |

11.05.15 | Gyorgy Palfi's newest bit of intermittently hysterical and gruesome surrealism called Free Fall is a straight up masterpiece. Really hoping to see it somewhere off the festival circuit soon.
Horse Money is probably Pedro Costa's best, it's like taking a bath in a tub filled with nightmares and loneliness and the water is brutally cold.
A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence is even better than it's title, somehow.
Stray Dogs is haunting and sad and beautiful and there's a 10 minute scene where a homeless father gets intimate/violent with a head of cabbage, and it's basically the most depressing thing ever.
Digging for Fire was wonderful, but I'm also a whore for Joe Swanberg movies, and most people aren't, so I'm more hesitant to rec that one as one of the best from the last couple years. |

11.05.15 | Glad to see Ex Machina on here, gooooooooooooood fucking movie |

11.05.15 | Oscar Isaac and Alicia Vikander deserve nominations |

11.05.15 | Also the movie itself for best original screenplay |

11.05.15 | I'm sorry, I know it's unrefined, but Mad Max Fury Road is the one that brings back the fondest memories.
Ex Machina was cool too |

11.05.15 | Mad Max was great it just didn't have much substance other than action. I think sequels will be better when they can expand on the lore and story of the world and characters more. |
MotoOnSputnik
11.05.15 | We learned nothing about any characters whatsoever, the whole movie is a skeleton |
DoofusWainwright
11.05.15 | You need characterisation in a Mad Max film why?none of them ever had much of that lol |
MotoOnSputnik
11.05.15 | What was the point of his flashbacks? Also I admit that one of the strengths of Tom Hardy is his expressionism and showing emotion without having to do that much. This movie was exactly what it tried to be which is fine, it just wasn't particularly engaging IMO, like I said I think sequels will be better. |
MotoOnSputnik
11.05.15 | It was engaging in an entertainment sense, but you never feel connected with it at all. Which again is fine if the goal was solely to be entertaining |
DoofusWainwright
11.05.15 | Thought it was about as engaging as an action film can be, perfect film within the genre for me |
MotoOnSputnik
11.05.15 | Yea I suppose it all depends on what you're hoping to get out of it. I know tons of people love it and a decent amount think it's overrated. I enjoyed it and even watched it a second time, but I don't think it's some masterpiece. |
DoofusWainwright
11.05.15 | Maybe not a masterpiece but when you sit and try to think of other action films of the last 10 years that compete you realise it's right up there |
MotoOnSputnik
11.05.15 | Yea I can agree with that |
BeyondCosby
11.05.15 | I second Mad Max. That movie is packed with such wonderful characterization and substance. It really says a lot when an actor can convey so much through so little dialogue. Definitely the best "action" movie I've ever seen.

11.05.15 | martian was shit imho |
LotusFlower
11.05.15 | the martian was alright, there was no way the book's narrative could translate to a movie well... but I thought they did a decent job. |

11.05.15 | Loved Ex Machina... happened to see it on the same day as an important milestone of my life :P
Inherent Vice was cool, but I still need to rewatch it, it was pretty complex and I feel like I only absorbed half of it from my first viewing.
Inside Out was a cute Pixar movie... saw that too haha.
Saw part of that new Tom Hanks Movie Bridges of Spies and it was kind of boring as hell not going to lie. Only even saw it because the small theater I live by was only playing it that day and I had a movie date there... I feel like Tom Hanks movies have really gone down hill over the years.
Still really wanna see Mad Max, Boyhood and Frank... I just haven't been watching too many movies lately. Winter break should fix that! |

11.05.15 | ex machina is prob my #2 for this time period (after intestellar), loved it |

11.05.15 | Oh my God, The Gift was easily one of the worst movies of the year. Decent generic thriller until the plot twists and it turns out Joel Edgerton (not only as his character, but as the writer/director) is a misogynistic fuckwad. |

11.05.15 | hell interstellar yeah |

11.06.15 | Sicario, The Gift, Selma, Dope, Creep, It Follows, and The Look of Silence are all solid films from this year so far. I've been wanting to see Victoria too since I heard about it. Sounds dope. Also Charlie Kaufman's new film Anomalisa is one I'm on the lookout for. And of course gotta be excited for The Revenant and The Hateful Eight. Inarritu and Tarantino are always killin it. |

11.06.15 | The Man from U.N.C.L.E [2] loved that movie |
