| Rate My 5s
This isn't supposed to have people judge my music taste. I decided to do this to illustrate what really can merit a 5. A 5 isn't something that is particularly common, and they vary for a lot of people, but sometimes people give 5s to a lot of albums albums that may actually be 4s or 4.5s in their eyes, but they haven't realized that yet. So look at your 5s and analyze whether or not you really think the album is worthy. I (amusingly enough) actually have 5 5s. | 1 | | Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
This is an album I gave a 5 because of how it really changed my perspective on music when I first heard it. This record is a really powerful, raw, emotional album where you could tell Brand New was literally pouring everything bottled up inside of them into a record and it is absolutely amazing. | 2 | | Nine Inch Nails The Downward Spiral
This is my favorite album in existance. The way that Trent Reznor narrates the self destruction of a man tells a tragic, dark, and overall horrifying story that is soundtracked perfectly by the mechanical, scratchy dark overtones provided in the album with lyrics that vividly showcase the pain that the main character is experiencing. From the opening hits in Mr. Self Destruct to the shattering final chord of Hurt, this album is an unbelievable experience. | 3 | | The Cure Pornography
One of the darkest records I've ever experienced, Robert Smith creates an incredible album once again out of pain. An album that opens with the line "it doesn't matter if we all die" and closes with "I will fight this sickness", obviously is one extremely dark album. And it is absolutely breathtaking | 4 | | Tool Aenima
This more appeals to musical brilliance. Tool is probably one of the most compact bands musically. Aenima shows them at their best, filled with fantastic insightful yet aggressive lyrics. Third Eye specifically is probably the greatest album closer I have ever heard. | 5 | | Wire Pink Flag
An energetic, simple, punk experience with the majority of the tracks between :30 and 1:45. Every track lasts the duration it should, and shifts over to yet another explosion shortly after. Wire's first three album were all phenomenal, but it's this one that shines above the others. | |

Well, I'm not a huge punk rock or The Cure fan, both have nice things, but I'm into something else. Your 5's are ok, I guess. | AlexKzillion
10.13.15 | 1 and 4 are on the verge of being 5's for me | zakalwe
10.13.15 | It's not ironic that you have 5 5s. Tool are cobblers. The write up for 1 is bloody ridiculous.
Rest is amazing though. | trve

10.14.15 | All of these are albums I really like but wouldn't give a 5. That being said, I can see how people might 5 these. Not really any surprising picks here, but a good list nonetheless. |
