October? But I hardly know 'er!

Upcoming albums I'm excited for (well, mostly...) in October.
1Deafheaven
New Bermuda

Haven't checked the stream yet (which, it's streaming somewhere, right?), but I've liked the singles I heard; plus, even if the early chatter proves truthful and this isn't quite up to snuff with the likes of Sunbather, well, that's quite a high hurdle to clear, so chances are it's still damn good even if it bashes its shin into the thing.
2Sevendust
Kill the Flaw

Frankly, it's pretty shocking how superbly these nu-metal refugees have rebounded on their past few discs. The djent influence is a little...curious...but there are far, far worse pairings I can think of...
3Trivium
Silence in the Snow

...which, speaking of, ditching Draiman might bring these guys back to the level of Shogun--or at least the underrated-but-still-not-great In Waves. I'd hesitate to call myself excited, so much as morbidly curious, though.
4Clutch
Psychic Warfare

They played a few live cuts from this when I saw them over the summer, which weren't flooring necessarily, but hot damn if Neil Fallon isn't a showman. Now if only I can hire him to come sing and dance along to the album in my living room...
5Fightstar
Behind the Devil's Back

Actually just started getting into these guys recently; looks like my unforgivable tardiness was actually a cunning, totally deliberate strategy in disguise.
6Loma Prieta
Self Portrait

One of the most consistent--and consistently under-the-radar (at least 'round these here parts)--outfits in their field.
7Kowloon Walled City
Grievances

On the other hand, I would never have discovered this group were it not for Sputnik, so credit where credit is due.
8Coheed and Cambria
The Color Before The Sun

I want to be more excited for this than I actually am. None of the early singles have grabbed me, honestly, and the lure of this being their first non-concept album really loses some of its luster when you consider that, hey, that's actually what most bands do pretty much all the time. But still, with these guys, I'm a loyalist--sometimes against my better judgment--so I still hold out hope. If nothing else, the ridiculously overpriced deluxe edition seems pretty nifty.
9Cheatahs
Mythologies

Actually just found out about this one. Cheatahs do a pretty great job hewing towards the fun edge of the shoegaze-revival scene, a mood that can be sorely missed among the masses of their more self-serious brethren.
10Chris Walla
Tape Loops

Well, for their part, Death Cab ended up releasing their best album in the better part of a decade, all while Walla was already very much on the outs. If he brings even half of his trademarked multifaceted songwriting/production chops to bear here, the results should be pretty dynamic.
11City and Colour
If I Should Go Before You

I feel like I've grown off of Dallas Green, though I can't precisely pinpoint why, since even though the he gets decent airplay on the local college radio station, and even if I were one to decry sell-outs like the 'zine-publishing punk twentysomething I surely was in another life, I'd hardly think that qualifies as over-saturation. I also remember liking the Hurry and the Harm more than a lot of people seemed to, so that's not it, either. I'm tentatively chalking it up to his ill-conceived, Civil Wars-aping duets album with good ol' Pink, since that's enough to make anybody rethink some things. But oh well. We will see/
12Foxing
Dealer

Grabbed the Albatross on a whim, and glad I did. Some solid, melodic, nice-and-sad emo revival.
13Maserati
Rehumanizer

Sick band, sick album title: A recipe for sick-cess.
14Beach Slang
The Things We Do to Find People Who Feel

Not to get too bogged down in labels, but an interesting blend of what I guess you could consider emo, along with some grunge influence worn on their flannel sleeve. This'll hopefully be the exciting, upstart little brother who achieves what Superheaven's Ours is Chrome attempted to.
15Puscifer
Money Shot

Based off the early singles and an interview with Maynard I saw in that paragon of journalism, Rolling Stone, it seems like this will be very much in the same vein as Conditions of My Parole, which was essentially an APC album, with all the atmosphere and compelling tone-painting that entails, masquerading beneath goofy album art. All of which is absolutely fine by me, since it's gonna be another dozen years (and, using the current rate, 27 remix EPs) before Tool even remotely starts to give actual concrete details on its fabled follow-up to 10,000 Days.
16Ryan Adams
1989

Although Father John Misty may have already come out on top of this surreal mashup of homage, satire, and masturbation, my flickering interest in Ryan Adams' oeuvre always seems at its brightest, ironically, when he's working with someone else's source material. But if that entails somehow finding a way to make "Wonderwall" interesting again, that's pretty dang impressive.
