| Would someone review my album?
I'm looking for anyone with even a vague passing interest in techno/house/electronic music to give my most recent (albeit nearly 18 months old) album a spin and to share their thoughts.
I want to branch out on my next record, and creatively it feels like I've hit a wall - as much as I like making music for myself, I would love to release a record that plays on my strengths to external listeners.
It's a bit of a needy concept and a bit self-indulgent, but it would be doing me a BIG help!

09.10.15 | alright so here's my input:
- you're better at ambient/chilled-out stuff than you are at "big-beat" style stuff (highlights on your album include Alpine, London Underground, Oceanic Reflection, the subtler/less chiptuney elements of Sail) (low points are Sing Along, Gutless). Fairie Dust is a lot better than Bang Bang - figure out why and you'll be able to make your music a lot better.
- your flow is pretty nice for the most part (there's nothing jarring, which is surprisingly rare in the music world - good job), but could use a little work. try to make a overall concept with your album. is it supposed to be a dance album or a "walking through the streets" album? it's hard to tell.
- the mood is sort of confusing. it reminds me a lot of deadmau5 (and not just because of Sleepless, which was nice btw, very Gorillaz-esque). if you really like that consider it a success but most people probably won't be huge fans. If I were you and you haven't already try marketing to deadmau5 fans (in legit ways, obvi.)

09.10.15 | On listening back to the record as a whole (which I very rarely find myself able to do), Sing Along stands out like a sore thumb - and with all due respect to the featured MC, I really wish I hadn't put it on there.
With regards to the concept, I think only one out of any of my albums have had any kind of commanding theme and that's 'Explorer', as a lot of the tracks had an almost world-music or geographically inspired mindset, so I totally take that on board.
I don't think my production style is a patch on deadmau5, nor will it ever be, so I'd probably look to move away from that direction - that you would say it was partially Gorillaz-esque is probably the biggest praise I could receive as they are a massive influence.
I think in your comparison of Faerie Dust to Bang Bang, the latter was probably created more as a pleasing novelty than something more organic like the former, and that's really the direction I want to go.
On the contrary to your summary, I saw that feedback as commandingly positive and I really, REALLY appreciate it - especially as you didn't even mention my complete butchering of Radiohead!
