No Country For Old Men

I am very late to the party with this movie but holy hell I can't believe what I've been missing. I consider myself quite a huge fan of the Coen brothers and to see them go back to their so-called roots with this movie was pretty cool. Most things people discuss about No Country is the rather abrupt ending. Whilst I found myself truthfully despising the ending on the first couple of viewings, I couldn't help but do a complete U turn and realise how perfect it actually is...I won't spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it. The performances are truly stunning across the board, but Javier Bardem as the hard faced killer in this movie just takes the cake. Honestly, every scene he is involved in is so ripe with tension I didnt know whether to laugh, cry, cringe or do all 3 simultaneously. The way the Coens manage to craft such unbearable tension throughout the whole movie with little to no music is mind blowing. I know everyone has probably seen this movie by now, but I had to post this list just to express how much I love that ending...and the rest of the movie of course!
