50%: The Shit List

crappy albums that came out this year. list is very incomplete.
1The Agonist
Eye of Providence

metalcore needs to stop
2Alien Ant Farm
Always and Forever

pretty apt title considering they sound the same as they did 15 years ago. in that they're completely nondescript, nothing special, and maybe fun for half a song or so but yea nah.
3All Time Low
Future Hearts

an album so un-hyped that i didn't even hear about it until after it came out... why do so many pop/rock bands refuse progression so much?
4And So I Watch You From Afar

almost hilariously pathetic twinkly noodling

shitty overhyped alt prog [1]

semi-decent yet completely pointless proggy mathy noodle fest
Everybody Is Going To Heaven

ah, i remember when i was 16 and listened to 'devil and god are raging inside me' for the first time.
8Dance Gavin Dance
Instant Gratification

completely awful
All Hands

10Drug Church

forgot about this band... until i didn't. then i wished i did again.
11Hilary Duff
Breathe In. Breathe Out.

among the many many comebacks this year, this was the least needed and least wanted one. regardless, i was at least curious to see how it would be. unfortunately, it's by far the worst pop album i've heard all year. my brief rant about it can be seen here:

legitly the worst shite i've ever heard
13Mikky Ekko

guy from that one rihanna song tries his luck in making his own debut album. much like that crappy feature, he can barely carry himself through a single song, let alone 10 or however many on here.
In Times

#9 on rym for 2015. (somehow only #60 on sput) i really don't get why. the black metal parts are like decent a few times sure, but mixed with that crappy prog metal cleans is just gross.
15Enter Shikari
The Mindsweep

16Fall Out Boy
American Beauty / American Psycho

makes the last one look decent tbh. this is just loud, obnoxious, overblown pop rock that thinks it's too important and doesn't know a thing about subtlety.
17Heights (UK-Berkshire)
Phantasia On The High Processions Of Sun, Moon And

i love experimental music!
18Imagine Dragons
Smoke + Mirrors

super twinkly and hammy post-metal that's pretty funny to listen to

i'm honestly surprised 0 people have voted on the classical tag for this band. lol
The Congregation

shitty overhyped alt prog [2]
22Make Them Suffer
Old Souls

certainly accomplishes the band's namesake to those listening
23Matt and Kim
New Glow

really fuckin shitty indie pop. band lost of their charm (if they really had any) 7 years ago
24Mumford and Sons
Wilder Mind

band gets rid of their crappy indie folk bluegrass shite but makes way for very by-the-numbers, and not at all interesting u2 worship/coldplay co-star alt rock

would much rather listen to actual droning noise than this
Juggernaut: Alpha

lol periphery
Juggernaut: Omega

lol periphery [2]
The End of Everything

shitty alt prog [3]
29Dawn Richard

tryhard alt r&b double album that's completely uninteresting after the 2nd song.
30Purity Ring
Another Eternity

chrvches-lite, really lite
Nonstop Feeling

xwhite-boyx xraprockx circa 2015
32Twenty One Pilots

imagine fun. but with rapping. it's that bad.

crappy noodle math alt prog shite [4]
34Wide Eyes

35August Burns Red
Found in Far Away Places

'"spiritual metalcore"
/kills self'

refused goes alt metal/hard rock, something in the vein of foo fighters. that one single is pretty much a fob song. beyond that, shape of punk was always on the verge of revealing itself to be an actually pretty shitty album, and this just proves that suspicion. regardless, i still love that album.
37I The Mighty

i really regret adding this band to the db (darker days then)
38The Story So Far
The Story So Far

a band with 0 progression at all. you'd think that over the last 5 years, they'd find more things to talk about than girls being sluts and how you deserved better, boohoo fuck this
39The Mavericks

2015 has actually had a decent-ish year for country so far. but i can't go through a single song on here w/o cringing
40Stick To Your Guns

funny hxc
41Trinidad James
No One Is SaFe

really wish i was safe from this
42Mark Ronson
Uptown Special

i'm very down with mainstream pop's retro-funk yearnings but this watered down shite doesn't cut it.
43Darke Complex

why isn't nu metal an extinct music genre yet?
Dormant Heart

sorry pleb :/
45Nate Ruess
Grand Romantic

after some nights, i slowly came to the conclusion that this guy could not actually sing very well at all. this proves it.
46Sunset In The 12th House

plodding post-metal with some psych that simply goes nowhere
47Faith No More
Sol Invictus

never enjoyed a single album by these guys, this was no exception. inb4 alt metal gross
48The Mountain Goats
Beat the Champ

beardcore indie shite
49My Sleeping Karma

would actually be decent/enjoyable if it weren't possibly the most pointless album that has ever existed

surprisingly does not contribute to the long-standing tradition of pasty EMO nerds naming themselves after sports references to compensate their complete lack of athletic ability... they're a sissy pop punk band instead!
Of Great Sorrow

almost decent and not pointless post-metal. almost
52The Waterboys
Modern Blues

more country (rock) that i wanted to like. pretty diverse in sound but super cringy
53Zac Brown Band
Jekyll + Hyde

bizarre "country" music in that it's not really country but everything else. you'll find electropop, soul/r&b ballads, and even plenty of tropicalia on here, but all this melds into a seriously disjointed mess and a highly unsatisfactory pop album.
54Cloud Rat

honestly not bad. interesting comb of screamo, grindcore, and a lil crust punk. i'd like to think i'd dig it but them vocals i just can't x_x
55Tyler, the Creator
Cherry Bomb

zany "experimental" hip hop album with no direction. fun but seems it all seems fabricated to look and seem "experimental" but nothing really substantial can be found her.
A Umbra Omega

idk i don't get this i guess
57Twin Shadow

more mediocre alt r&b in an entire sea of mediocore alt r&b
The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty

"Tyga is The Grand Imperial Wizard Of L's, bruh. Named his forever delayed Instant Recycle Bin Classic "The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty", and watched it go Double Concrete. Then it turns out he actually sold worse than Troy Average (congratulations on going Triple Plastic, homie... New York stand up). You get hit with a subpoena by the only guy at your "WTF are those" sneaker release party who's acting like he wants to buy something. You get caught sleeping with a tranny pornstar AND a child?! While denying them both?! Every time I think he can't possibly fail at life anymore I'll see that he's trending on social media and see that he found the failure buried 12 levels under the failure that the rest of us were straining to see. Got his Doctorate's in Quantum Failure. If there's a failure going on in life he wants to know about it before it happens and help take it to the next level of failing. Nobody fails without his say so"
59 Bilal
i forget which album it was
