Pantera Albums Ranked

All Pantera's album ranked, including the glam years, because why the hell not?
9Pantera
Metal Magic

So Pantera started as a glam band, and like other glam bands, they honestly kind of sucked...
8Pantera
I Am the Night

While not quite as bad as "Metal Magic", it's still a pretty mediocre album that reaks of 1980s stereotypes.
7Pantera
Projects in the Jungle

Again, not as bad as the last two, "Projects In The Jungle" does actually include some solid tracks this time around, such as "All Over Tonite" and the title track...however, these aren't enough to save the album.
6Pantera
Power Metal

Pantera's first album with some decency, "Power Metal" works as the bridge between their earlier glam outings and their later more heavy offerings. This is the first album with Phil, and also their first album that wasn't absolutely mediocre.
5Pantera
Cowboys from Hell

This is the first Pantera album that truly is a classic. The only thing stopping it from ranking higher is the fact that all of the best songs are in the first half ("Cowboys From Hell", "Domination", "Cemetery Gates", "Heresy", etc). It's not that the second half is bad, just not as great as the first half.
4Pantera
Reinventing the Steel

Pantera's final album may be a classic, but it's always felt like it was lacking something (maybe a softer acoustic number? or maybe just the production bothers me). Still, there are several classic Pantera songs on this album such as "Yesterday Don't Mean Shit", "Revolution is My Name", "Goddamn Electric", "It Makes Them Disappear", "We'll Grind That Axe For a Long Time"
3Pantera
Vulgar Display of Power

Pantera's biggest album, including the first Pantera song most of us probably heard "Walk" and other hits such as "Mouth for War" and "This Love". This album is almost flawless, and is easily interchangeable with the other two top albums (All three of these could easily be swapped over and over again).
2Pantera
Far Beyond Driven

In 1994, Pantera released yet another classic album "Far Beyond Driven". While it is, again, a classic, there is one thing that's always kept it from being my favorite...well two things: 1.) The production just feels like it falls a bit flat this time around & 2.) "Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills" may be a hilarious novelty, but it gets kind of annoying after a while...oh well, it's only three minutes.
1Pantera
The Great Southern Trendkill

My all-time favorite Pantera record, is perhaps their heaviest offering. It includes several classics such as the title track, "War Nerve", "Drag the Waters", "10's", "Suicide Note", "Floods"...all the songs are fucking classics! It's kind of funny how the album I could never get more than halfway through a few years back has become my favorite album of all-time (Tied with "The Greatest Generation" by The Wonder Years).
