As of recently it's broadened into me not agreeing with why it is used if that makes any sense. On one side, I think that drinking/smoking for partying purposes is ridiculous after being forced to watch the generic college student. And then there is more of me not understanding the use of it socially because that blatantly sounds like doing it because everyone else is.
I also can't wrap my mind around the one side of the spectrum that is pro-alcohol/party all day and every day but hates and condemns the idea of marijuana. Like fuck, that bothers me the most.

and then there are the ones who just started drinking in college solely because it's the norm and they want to subscribe to that way of life to fit the standard. This is also the group that condemns marijuana and this whole side just pisses me off. I guarantee that if alcohol use was actually frowned upon by most of society, no matter the age, they wouldn't be drinking ever. It would seem that in the end, I'm anti-drug and alcohol (and am also straight edge), but my problem lies with conformism. Lol time for some hate I assume |

I only started drinking in university myself. It is solely because of peer pressure etc etc. I made a realization that if you want to fit in as a normal adult, have a normal life and have friends you can't constantly go against the grain whether you like it or not drinking becomes essential to making/ keeping friends. Just drink whenever you hang out with friends and don't drink alone, or confine yourself to a beer or two at least you'll get to be in good company. |
