i've been rating for a minute now and over the time i realized that my 3.5 & 4 ratings are extremely crowded and thus not consistently representing a certain idea of quality while the lower ratings were barely used
so i just decided who give a care about how much they dislike an album and moved everything down in order to most accurately differentiate between how much i like things rather than how much i dislike things |

03.18.15 | well yeah i also won't give something a 3 or more unless i like it on some level, but i do tend to seek out things i'm likely to enjoy (like most people obviously) and end up with mostly 3s and above thanks to that
i've noticed that there's also a fair amount of albums i have at a 3 that i rated upon joining the site based on memory of how much i liked them, and was probably pretty easy-going at that point and gave 3s to albums that'd maybe be 2.5s at most if i listened to them now
how tree rates is similar to me when it comes to 1.0 - 2.5, but for me not everything 3 and above is the jams. 3 is something i like but definitely recognise flaws in and probably won't revisit too much. 3.5 is for albums i really like but they're only kinda jams. 4 and above is defs jams |
