| My Favorite Directors
Wtf new Sputnik | 1 | | Orange Goblin A Eulogy for the Damned
CLINT EASTWOOD
Although he's made a few duds, Eastwood is undeniably a film LEGEND! My personal favorite and definitely a director I hold close to my heart.
Favorites: Unforgiven, Gran Torino, Letters from Iwo Jima, Million Dollar Baby, American Sniper. | 2 | | Red Fang Murder the Mountains
MARTIN SCORCESE
A true master of the gangster genre and beyond.
Favorites: Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, The Departed, Casino, The Wolf of Wall Street. | 3 | | Goatwhore Constricting Rage of the Merciless
RIDLEY SCOTT
A man who has made some of my favorite movies. Although there have been a few that I don't really enjoy, this guy has made a lot of great stuff.
Favorites: Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down. | 4 | | TV on the Radio Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes
CHRISTOPHER NOLAN
A guy who has been consistently delivering great film after great film.
Favorites: The Dark Knight, Inception, Memento | 5 | | Sodom M-16
STANLEY KUBRICK
A very fascinating, albeit sometimes a bit less entertaining, director. While I think his films are very good, they don't quite have the same entertainment factor as films from Speilberg or Nolan. He's still a phenomenal director though, undoubtedly.
Favorites: The Shining, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket. | 6 | | Porcupine Tree In Absentia
QUENTIN TARANTINO
An adamant believer in over-the-top violence and intriguing characters, Tarantino has made some truly fantastic films. While I don't quite hold him in the same regard as many people do, I definitely love his work.
Favorites: Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Inglorious Basterds. | 7 | | Minor Threat Complete Discography
STEVEN SPIELBERG
This guy has made more than a handful of films I would consider to be classic.
Favorites: Jaws, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List, Jurassic Park, Lincoln, Catch Me If You Can. | 8 | | Watain Sworn to The Dark
DAVID FINCHER
This guy has been making some really great stuff lately. He's actually pretty underrated imho.
Favorites: Fight Club, Seven, The Social Network | |

02.26.15 | Solid, safe, contemporary list.
That said, much different than mine would be.
Every director here (except Spielberg) generally makes slick, smart films with absolutely no heart. | Let
02.26.15 | Check Tarkovsky (namely Mirror) | ZombicidalMan
02.26.15 | no del toro, no list | InfernalOarsman
02.26.15 | I like Del Toro quite a bit | ScuroFantasma
02.26.15 | Cool list, definitley some great directors here | Tunaboy45
02.26.15 | david motherfucking fincher | hikingmetalpunk
02.26.15 | hitch to the cock | apert
02.27.15 | Very standard, can't believe you don't have 2001 as a Kubrick favourite and Raiders as a Speilberg favourite | furpa
02.27.15 | Solid list, be it quite standard. But I guess it's standard for a reason haha.
Check the Coen Brothers and Wes Anderson. | BAT
02.27.15 | no daren aronofsky?. tarantinos a plagiarist, reservoir dogs is basically an uncredited departed. | Hovse
02.27.15 | Check Tarkovsky (namely Mirror) (2) | Kman418
02.27.15 | never heard of these | Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.27.15 | pleb picks bro
needs Nicolas Winding Refn
Lars Von Trier
Larry Clark
Wes Anderson
Gaspar Noe
Jim Jarmusch | Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.27.15 | also del toro is a shit director, just to clear that up. | Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.27.15 | i mean really last time i checked making one good movie doesn't elevate you to best director of all time status | furpa
02.27.15 | LordePots Gaspar Noe! Dude's fucked... | Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.27.15 | yeah he's completely fucked
most of the directors i listed are haha | furpa
02.27.15 | Haha yeah Von Trier has his moments, like Charlotte Gainsbourg cutting off her clit or whatever lol... But Gaspar Noe dude... Enter The Void fucked with me, but Irreversible is actually pretty amazing. | Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.27.15 | both of those movies are fucking visionary holy shit
enter the void on acid was something | furpa
02.27.15 | Haha shit I'd never attempt to watch a Noe film under any substance... Kind of blew me away though, that moment where the shot floats away from the dudes body and you realize what's going on really made me smile. | Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.27.15 | totally. never thought id see a movie where the main character is dead for 90% if its duration | furpa
02.27.15 | @LordePots Haha yeah without doubt one of the most original films I've ever seen. I assume you've seen I Stand Alone? | BAT
02.27.15 | @howmanycanyoufit good movie, but it's basically city on fire 1987. the departed was a remake of infernal affairs, the only changes from the original was setting, characters, and dialog. reservoir dogs is the same in theory yet tarantino denies it. he's basically shia labeouf. | Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.27.15 | @howmanycockscanifitinmymouth wes anderson is entry level for sure but if you think the rest of those directors are entry level you are a fool, you dont have to search far to find thousands of people who find their work too challenging to digest. its pretty clear you dont know what entry level means. | Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.27.15 | @furpa sure have, love that film too | Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.27.15 | lol | BAT
02.27.15 | i stand by my statement. | Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.27.15 | having heard of something =/= it being entry level, being a well known director =/= entry level. entry level is accessible. antichrist irreversible and kids are not accessible and neither are the majority of any of those directors films. if i wanted to list a bunch of shitty obscure directors nobody has ever heard of i would have. | BAT
02.27.15 | yeah | MrSirLordGentleman
02.27.15 | fact: american sniper sucks | Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.27.15 | i dont doubt it | furpa
02.27.15 | I can vouch. Not great. | MrSirLordGentleman
02.27.15 | u guys need Jodorowsky | Lord(e)Po)))ts
