Concert Openers

In no order the sweetest and/or most surprising concert openers I've witnessed.
1Darkest Hour
Doomsayer

The acoustic sample playing as soon as the lights went out, hearing John Henry bark out the opening words along with the first five rows of people and the famous WELL WHO CAN SAVE YOU bridge one word: damn.
2My Chemical Romance
The End/Dead

Getting heat for this one I'm sure. Their Black Parade tour was definitely out there, over the top and a bit much. Then again, with the concept it fit perfectly. Such a brilliant opening with a stretcher, beautiful lights and just buy the DVD or youtube it when it comes out. It's a gimmick sold very well and I bought it.
3Chiodos
The Undertaker's Thirst For Revenge Is Unquenchable

Their last US headline tour right after Bone Palace came out. Such a powerful opener and despite the majority opinion Craig Owens is an absolute beast behind the microphones. His opening screams were spine tingling.
4Thrice
The Artist In The Ambulance

Never thought they'd open with this but when Dustin rang out that F chord at the beginning I knew it was coming. Surprise and done to perfection. Was done our their tour supporting Brand New in late 07.
5Funeral For A Friend
The End of Nothing

First band I caught at last years Warped Tour at around noon. Their guitars have such an awesome tone and their overall sound was just flawless. The raw edge of theirs really came out live.
6A Day To Remember
Breakdown/Fast Forward to 2012

They've opened just about every one of their shows this way. A little bouncy drumbeat, some open C chords, standard stuff really but they do it way better than they should and that's why they are where they are. Energy level goes up +5 after this.
7Avenged Sevenfold
Chapter Four

This was early 2006 for their City of Evil headline tour. Never in a million years thought they'd bust this out for starters. Pleasant surprise and pretty well done despite both vocal parts being sung unlike the album version.
8Paramore
Misery Buisness

It's becoming a Warped Tour trend to open with the latest single and as GHIII puts it get that piece of @%$# out of the way early. They did, it rocked, all the d00ds got boners.
9Thursday
For The Workforce, Drowning

Warped 06 first time seeing this band. This is one of the few shows I've attended where I have entirely 100% lost control over myself just from being in a crazy crowd. The surging was intense, everyone was way into their performance, the sun was beating down and burning me, and it was a great Warped moment.
10Thrice
All That's Left

I would cover this song with the first group of people I ever jammed with. Despite seeing the group 5 times including 2 headline shows, I had never seen them play this. I had the PRV Jimmy Kimmel version from 03 on my comp but it's still not the same. So when they stepped on stage for their recent headline tour after a brief solo piece from Dustin and the drumbeat kicked in I was almost paralyzed with joy. This was followed by a 3 minute seizure.
