Not A List Just Saying Though!
Great releases from some, hey, like alright and, yeah like, good
bands...etc. |
| 8 | | The Flaming Lips Clouds Taste Metallic
I think if you're new to the Lips discography this gives one the best view of them. If
you love the Lips then you've probably spun this record quite a few times. If this
isn't a concept album at the top of a great band's form than I don't know what a
concept album is. |
| 7 | | The Kinks Kinda Kinks
If you love The Kinks chances are you will love 'Kinda Kinks'... all of it gives me a
delicious early Beatles feel but so tweaked and strange (almost as if the Beatles
came to meet you but all had melty faces) wow! |
| 6 | | Sonic Youth Goo
Black and white cover/paranormal get it right/get it wrong submersed in ethereal
noise/lethargy hope for the future/absent past - - - |
| 5 | | Pavement Wowee Zowee
I cannot say enough good things about this rock masterpiece! Get it going on
headphones and baby you got a stew goin' |
| 4 | | Nirvana In Utero
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| 3 | | The Zombies Begin Here
This LP is almost over-bearing in the greatness it overwhelms you with. Like 'Are
You Experienced' by the Jimi Hendrix Experience in the sense that every song
works to benefit the greater work; yet each song could easily demand single/radio-
friendly status instantaneously. |
| 2 | | Rx Bandits ...And The Battle Begun
The greatest progressive rock album of this century if all goes well... |
| 1 | | Broken Bells After The Disco
This is one of those albums that infected my psyche like a nervous tic trying to rid
itself of itself. It didn't appeal to a lot of folks and I can see why but it remains
something of an apparition of 2014 that either gets a smile or a pass. My
recommendation is to give it at least five listens before dismissing it. |
