| 10 Best Albums Of 2014
What I came across this year. Not confined to a single genre. | 10 | | Prince Art Official Age
It was good to see Prince releasing new stuff again, with the trademark pop/funk sound, but wasn't that special to me, like Gold Experience, 3121 or Come. Sounded more like Around The World In A Day to me. | 9 | | Electric Six Human Zoo
This one got me by surprise actually. Was a step up from Mustang, would put it closer to Zodiac and I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me From Being The Master. Quite short. | 8 | | ATB Contact
Another nice trance album, divided between CD1 - club mix and what hit the sweet spot for me: the chillout CD2. | 7 | | Accept Blind Rage
I enjoyed Blood Of The Nations a lot, and things are looking up here. Of course, we don't have the "new lineup and return from hiatus" factor here. Despite that, the album delivers some great tracks, like "Stampede". This album got to #1 in the German charts, which is amazing. | 6 | | Deadmau5 While (1 < 2)
I'm really enjoying this new direction he's taking. Something tells me we will have some great stuff coming out in the future. This one sounded to me like Get Scraped, but what you get here is a strong dose of Nine Inch Nails. My favorite track: "Seeya". | 5 | | Powerman 5000 Builders Of The Future
Another release that got me by surprise. At first, it sounded like it took off from the great Somewhere Outside Of Nowhere, but there are subtle differences here. "You're Gonna Love It If You Like Or Not" reminds me of Gagnam Style. Another good one is "How To Be A Human". | 4 | | Basement Jaxx Junto
Great summer jam. My favorites here are "Mermaid Of Salinas", "What's The News", "Never Say Never" and "Love Is At Your Side". The only downside here is "Buffalo". | 3 | | Paul Oakenfold Trance Mission
I got into trance this year, and this guy showed some great tracks in previous albums, but for this one, I only have to say this: "Touch Me". | 2 | | Mø No Mythologies To Follow
I loved that girl-pop atmosphere around the whole thing. Favorite tracks: "Maiden", "Pilgrim", "Fire Rides", "Slow Love". | 1 | | The Crystal Method The Crystal Method
I kept listening to this one front to back during the whole year! At first, I wasn't very happy with the dubstep direction in "Over It", but the rest of the album kicks some major ass! What really surprised me was "Grace". Other great tracks include "Storm The Castle", "Emulator" and "Jupiter Shift". | |
