Simply put, I enjoyed the hell out of this fucking riff fest.
4Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross
Gone Girl

This is one of those rare soundtracks that really lift a movie up, and everytime I give this
record a spin, I remember the particular scene on wich that particular song played, and
besides, i'm a sucker for Reznor/Ross's work, and I think that Tecnically Missing is one of the
best songs released this year.
3The Hotelier
Home, Like NoPlace Is There

No band this year made a pop punk (with some emo along with that) album as sincere and
hard hitting as The Hotelier, and those are probably the kind of compliments that I rarely give
to a record, and goddamn, Among The Wildflowers and Dendron bring me the feels like no
songs this year.
2Interpol
El Pintor

Well, maybe i'm a little biased on this one because Interpol is probably one of my favorite
bands of all time and i've enjoyed most of their releases (Yeah, even the self-titled), but with El
Pintor, they looked back to their roots, and made a record that took by surprise almost every
fan, cause let's face it, expectations were kinda low for this one. Banks and co. showed a type
of musicianship that we haven't seen from them since their debut, and they released my
personal SOTY, that being All The Rage Back Home.
1Circa Survive
Descensus

I really can't compliment this album enough because it has everything I look for on an album.
Expectations were high, because the singles launched previously were pretty damn great, and
fortunately, the album lived up (and surpassed) those expectations. To keep this short,
Anthony Green and co. brought their A game and knocked it out of the park with some tight,
adventurous songwriting, and a passionate vocal delivery from Anthony Green. This obviously
isn't for everybody so I really understand if some of you don't like the band, or this release in
particular. But fuck, just give Child Of The Desert or Schema a chance, even if you despise
Green's vocal style.
