KrazyKris 12.13.14	It's pretty much brainless. If your goal in life is to be happy, which I guess it is, and you currently aren't then it doesn't matter if someone else has a potentially thougher life than you. You are very much entitled to find your situation crappy, at least as long as you're not saying you are in the worst situation possible. From our conversations I can tell you're smart enough to not do that. And I won't even start with how useless it is to try comparing completely different lifes, maybe even in completely different environments.
VisionsFromTheDarkSide 12.13.14	I think the best thing I've heard about this matter is "If you feel like you can't be sad because someone is worse off than you then by that logic you also can't be happy because someone is always better off than you."

KrazyKris 12.13.14	Just recognized I overread a word in the your post, therefore my rsponse doesn't make sense. Sorry for that. But just to answer your question, I'm usually not (aka never) happy.
Iamthe Nightstars 12.20.14	I have had a mild case of tourettes my whole life. Luckily though, it's not very noticeable and doesn't interfere with my life much at all. I agree with KrazyKris on how that argument is flawed. My parents used to always guilt trip me about how other people have it off much worse than me and I'm just like, "Ok, what am I supposed to do about that?" We are all different people with different lives and have different experiences. It's pointless to compare yourself to others. But, I do realize how fortunate I am and try to be as thankful as I can for it. Just don't give me the "there are starving kids in Africa" lecture when I'm depressed.
