| Just Released My First Album
[SHAMELESS ADVERTISING] - This took more than it should've (I got really lazy at some point). I'm not that good with placing songs in a genre, I'm gonna say this is some lo-fi / alternative rock (some acoustic and weird stuff in there). Let me know if you find something you enjoy in there. These are the bands/artists that had a big impact on my taste (chronological order): | | 1 | | Black Sabbath Master of Reality
I wasn't really into metal at that time so Sabbath was a great way to start. I loved their stuff (only listen to the Ozzy-era). I was searching for concert bootlegs and all kinds of stuff. Oddly enough when I started writing music I was into different bands so their impact was diminished but they're still a big part of my journey. | | 2 | | Bob Dylan Blood on the Tracks
I heard some Dylan songs before but I wasn't really getting into his music until I saw some footage of him playing 'Mr.Tambourine Man' on Newport Folk Festival (1964), I was mesmerised by the whole performance. | | 3 | | The Beatles Rubber Soul
John Lennon / The Beatles -I tried to listen to their first album but it didn't really do much for me, it was only ok. I only started to pay attention after I heard the song 'Help', being amazed by the harmonies on that song. After that I listened to some more stuff and started to realize why they were so praised by everyone. As far as solo careers I prefer Lennon's (but then again I haven't listen to a lot of stuff from the other 3 - I do like 'Cloud 9' by George Harrison) | | 4 | | Dolores O'Riordan Are You Listening?
Dolores O'Riordan / The Cranberries - A friend of mine showed me 'Zombie' and then I listened to 'Bury the hatchet' and even though it's not their best effort it still got me into their music. Great stuff (her solo albums too) - Her voice is amazing. I don't listen to them as much as I used to but this was a big obsession at some point. | | 5 | | Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin II
Jimmy Page / Led Zeppelin - One of the first guitarist that got my attention. Sure, I heard Tony Iommi, Randy Rhoads and others before and even though their music was great it was Page that really got me into different aproaches when it came to guitar oriented music. Obviously his work with Zeppelin is the best but I think the album he did with Coverdale is really underrated. | | 6 | | Alice in Chains Dirt
My favorite band from the big 4 of grunge. I played Dirt without knowing any other songs from AiC (well, except for 'Man in the Box') and to this point I think it's one of my favorite albums. Also, Staley's work with Mad Season is amazing. | | 7 | | John Frusciante The Empyrean
John Frusciante / RHCP - Someone recommended me 'Californication' (which I thought was great) but after that I checked around and saw that their guitarist has a solo carrer. Seeing those high ratings for his albums I thought I should check what the fuss was about. I started with 'The Empyrean'. It became one of my favorite albums but at first it was very hard to listen past the 3rd song (Not because it was bad but because I didn't saw the album as some thing you listen to 'casually'). Frusciante & RHCP are my current obsession ever since late 2013 | |

12.06.14 | Interesting, will give this a listen | pedro70512
12.06.14 | I'm not sure what I was expecting out of this, but it wasn't what I got. I'm hearing everything
from Pink Floyd and Queen to Bon Jovi and REM. You have a great voice for the low-key singing and
the understated drumming is spot-on. I'm really enjoying this so far. | OZZGabriel
12.06.14 | Thanks for the kind words :) | pedro70512
12.06.14 | Just making observations, man. I just released an album this week too, so I know how much a close, thoughtful listen means. | Hurricanslash
12.06.14 | So, I listened to the highlighted track, I enjoyed it, and then I downloaded the album, I need some time with it alone. I will definitely write my thoughts down here when that happens. | OZZGabriel
12.07.14 | Well if you hate the rest at least you enjoyed that track. That's good enough for me, hehe. | Final Origin
12.07.14 | Lots of great ideas and sounds here dude, really liked what I heard! | Archelirion
12.07.14 | I'm really enjoying the sound of this, your vocals are excellent! Some of the sound effects are quite unsettling (which by the way is a compliment of sorts), and the guitar solos are awesome (Lifelessness has a particularly good one). I will say that the cymbals can be a bit overbearing at times but that's my only real gripe. Nice work :) | OZZGabriel
12.07.14 | "your vocals are excellent"
Well that's...unexpected |
