| Album Digging - November (2nd Half)
Ohhhhhh it's been a while | | 10 | | Placebo Placebo
So hyped to see them in March next year. Favourite Tracks: Hang on to Your IQ, Nancy Boy,
Swallow | | 9 | | Car Seat Headrest Twin Fantasy
Been listening to quite a bit of Car Seat Headrest today - I find lofi quite charming in it's amateur-ish sound. I'd
add a few other albums of theirs/his/whatever, but frankly I cannot be arsed adding them onto the band page.
Favourite Tracks: Beach Life-in-Death (I adore the line 'Mom, this is my broTHERR' ), Bodys | | 8 | | Swans To Be Kind
Okay I've been writing this list from #1 downwards, so I've kinda lost the will to live. Swans
is Swans. Favourite Tracks: Little God in My Hands, Nathalie Neal | | 7 | | Schizoid Lloyd The Last Note in God's Magnum Opus
An interesting album, I'd be lying if I said I loved it, but it's growing. Really nice progressions,
and interesting experimentation, not sure what else to say really. Favourite Tracks: Amphibian
Seer, Cave Painter | | 6 | | 0edit Neotokyo
The second album, NSF, specifically. Fantastic fusion of electronic and acoustic, I don't know
enough about it to say much more, but what I do know is that I bloody love it. Favourite
Tracks: Scrap I/O, Nimbus, Welcome | | 5 | | Anubis Hitchhiking to Byzantium
I will never stop loving this album. Admittedly sometimes I love it a little less than other times, but hey, you can't
have too much of a good thing. You gotta have some of the bad to truly appreciate the good, capiche? I can't wait
for the European tour. Favourite Tracks: Everything, screw you. | | 4 | | Persefone Spiritual Migration
I need to see these guys live. This album is pretty damn tight - I've heard that quite a few
people don't like the vocals, but I don't see anything wrong with them. Amazing progressions,
amazing melodies, amazing album. I really need to check out their other stuff. Favourite
Tracks: Inner Fullness, Consciousness Pt 1. Sitting in Silence, Returning to the Source | | 3 | | Mastodon Once More 'Round the Sun
Holy Mother of Jesus, why didn't I see Mastodon live sooner? I went to see them in Manchester earlier this week and
it was absolutely fantastic. It made me appreciate this album so much more, and even The Hunter to an extent. My
body, ears and voice killed for days afterwards. Worth it. Favourite Tracks: Chimes at Midnight, The Motherload,
Aunt Lisa | | 2 | | Bjork Medulla
Holy Mother of Jesus, why didn't I check out this album sooner? The experimentation in it is just sublime, and
Bjork's vocals really shine. Dare I say, I much prefer it over Debut and Homogenic? I've been listening to it a lot
recently, some of the songs I'm still a little uncomfortable with (*cough* Ancestors *cough*), but some of the
songs really do smash her other works out of the water. In other news, Biophilia: Live was a little disappointing -
it's great, but not mindblowing, maybe I should do a review for it... Favourite Tracks: Where is the Line?, Triumph
of a Heart, Mouth's Cradle | | 1 | | Bent Knee Shiny Eyed Babies
Holy Mother of Jesus, this album was a suckerpunch out of nowhere. I don't even know how to describe it, let alone where
to begin. Art rock? Avant-Garde? Audio Nectar? Whatever it is, it has a beautiful fusion of hard hitting beats and elegant
melodies, soothing vocals and terrifying screams, catchy-choruses and maddening experimentation - often all within the
same song. This album has rocketed up to my Top 3 AOTY - it's criminal that it's getting so little attention. Favourite Tracks:
Being Human, In God We Trust, Sunshine, Skin | |

11.28.14 | Thanks for the rec mike, I'll check it out soon | Mad.
12.01.14 | Awesome stuff bro, glad you dig 7. It's almost as much of a grower as HtB!
EVERYONE EVER SHOULD CHECK 5 | JJKeys
12.01.14 | I'm gonna try to listen to it more, but I can't see it being above a 4 for me
And I've been wondering - are we, like, a cult now? It's only a matter of time before we start ritual sacrifices in praise of HtB... | JJKeys
12.01.14 | Also - Check out 1. It's definitely my #2 AOTY, ever so slightly below HtB | Mad.
12.01.14 | Yeah i didn't think I'd like it as much as a 4.5 at first, especially with that whiteboy rap
We are definitely a cult, albeit a painfully small one. Album's worthy of murdering more than a few sheep in worship of, methinks
Yeah i will check 1, 6 and 9 - added em to my bandcamp wishlist |
