Something Prescriptive (caribou)
A general outline of what i love about Caribou... |
| 15 | Caribou Eli
There are so many from Andorra here, but that is when i got into this group and i
gotta say; 60s psych rock and kraut-rock go hand in hand apparently. |
| 14 | Bees
Bees are cool. |
| 13 | Our Love
So very, overwhelmingly, and enthusiastically real on every emotional level
conceivable. If, as i say, there is love in the world of songs these days; Caribou is
writing the best if not only ones. |
| 12 | Sun
I could listen to this on repeat for a month. |
| 11 | Sandy
I realize there are a ton of Caribou tracks and, make no mistake, this list is here to
edify and hopefully get people into Caribou. That said; no one knows better than
good old "Sandy" when it comes to them drums. |
| 10 | Sundialing
Very good. Enough said. And anyone out there that needs to listen to it really should. |
| 9 | Back Home
Is this Genesis? Is this Phil Collins? Is this guy just the new Phil Collins? |
| 8 | Can't Do Without You
I can't do it, I can't do it, I can't do it, I can't do it, I can't do it, I can't (DO
WITHOUT YOU) |
| 7 | Niobe
The final track is always amusing when it comes to Caribou, yet, somehow I'm left
believing that this (that is this song) is the greatest closer of any LP. |
| 6 | Skunks
Das a good BEAT |
| 5 | Found Out
Best use of guitar in an electronica track; hands down the best space-out jam for
when introspection just stops working for you. That moment when everything in
your life melts vicariously. |
| 4 | Bowls
Indian pots? Programmed into a keyboard? What? |
| 3 | I've Lived On a Dirt Road All My Life
I actually don't know what makes this so brilliant; the song and the title speak for
itself. |
| 2 | Mars
Something along the lines of, say, "Bowls" from Swim at first...until all of a sudden
you're floating and bouncing in near zero gravity. A nice compliment to Skyrim as
well... |
| 1 | She's The One
If love songs exist in this day and age; then Dan Snaith owns all of them. |
