yourself think about it non stop, really live in all the shitty feelings you're experiencing right now it's part of the process.

my buddy lives in Winnipeg and he moved out there for his gf who's taking school. he joined a good construction company and was best friends with the foreman. really looks up to him and he is a talented and strong dude. this foreman gets into a car with a drunk woman in her 40's. needless to say she veers off the road into a ditch and the car rolls over. it rolled over on his side and the roof of the car crumpled and pushed his skull into his spine. basically fracturing and severing a few vertebrae. he's basically a quadripalegic now. my buddy is devastated. |

sorry to hear about your friend, really. Yes drunk driving is reckless but its still not necessarily a judgement of someone's character per se. People lose control of their judgement when they are drunk and then they drive because of it. You are somewhat blaming the victim when you promote alcoholism and blame drunk drivers. |

Most of the problem of drunk driving in the US at least comes from terrible public transportation. It doesn't get you where you want, it takes forever, and most importantly it is dangerous at night. People rationally want to take their chances driving drunk in some cases than getting off at a bus stop where you get mugged 50% of the time. Also our entire culture, which is basically sports and not much else, promotes alcoholism. Saying someone should legally be able to get drunk enough to entirely lose control of themselves, and not legal to drive, doesn't make a lot of sense. |
