Favourite Worst Nightmare
At the moment, this one is my favorite over Humbug. It's crazy and relentless place,
the instrumentals breaks replacing solos, the heaviness indieness of it all... It's crazy.
Still trying to find some music that sounds like This House Is A Circus or If you were

Oh, what an awesome desert rock record. It's always battling FWN for the top spot,
and it held the title for perhaps a longer a time. I think this one has the best
production of all in terms of records, and some of their best lyrics. | | 3 | | Arctic Monkeys

I still can remember the day I bought this record after weeks of pestering my mom so
we could go to the only record store here in Brasilia where I could find this indie gem.

Suck It And See
Although I'm not a big fan of this one, I think my dislike for it suffers from the great
expectations Humbug gave me, and the great deception of it not fulfilling those
expectations. It's a great record nonetheless, even if I would have preferred an

It's got a nice, creative new sound for the band, the one record they had always
wanted to craft all along. The Rap/Hip Hop influence comes through in the form of
contemporary R&B sounding vocals and production, and while there are some songs
that could compare to the best ones in their back catalogue, most of them don't pack
much content. All of them still nice tunes, just some really crap lyrics sometimes and
a pretty repetitive style along all the record. But Knee Socks, DIWK and Fireside could
easily duel anything off Humbug and FWN. Yeah. | |

11.03.14 | I just don't see any progression on that record. Sure there are a few big riffs, but they sound like they've been lifted from a Black Sabbath record rather than being any real step forward. The rest of the record to me sounds like Alex Turner by numbers, which is still good but...
Favourite Worst Nightmare is great, but I've always preferred the sounds on their other records. I actually prefer some of the b-sides from that time to tracks which made it onto the album. | StallionMang
