Some Anime I Finished
Finished these titles recently. Currently watching Hellsing: Ultimate on toonami and
Anohana. |
| 1 | | Tegan and Sara The Con
Psycho-Pass - pretty good although it didn't impress me like some of Gen's other works did.
sketchy about how season 2 is gonna turn out, but the movie might be cool. |
| 2 | | The Cure Disintegration
Oreshura - i don't really delve into the harem genre a lot and while the only other anime of
that style i can refer to really is rosario vampire, this one did have its moments. it started off
really strong with an interesting premise and did show some promise. unfortunately though,
the last few episodes weren't as strong. |
| 3 | | CHVRCHES The Bones of What You Believe
Black Lagoon - Revy is da baddest bitch. i heard some criticisms about the second season
being weaker but idk, i think i might prefer that half a little more. will definitely check out the
manga one day. |
| 4 | | The Velvet Underground White Light/White Heat
Hunter X Hunter (2011) - fucking loved this anime. it's easily the best ongoing shonen and
while i have yet to read the manga, this show is already one of my favorites. it takes shonen
battles to whole new levels to the point that it's mind blowing at how much thought was put
into them. it's understandable how long it has taken for this series to be made and really
don't mind that it's on hiatus again. never expected to like this more than yu yu hakusho. |
| 5 | | Yes Fragile
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (2012) - after years of being curious about this series since reading a
preview of part 3 off a shonen jump issue, it's a relief that it is good as i anticipated it would
be. one of the main criticisms i've seen for this adaptation is how it drags out a lot of its
battles with expository on what the characters are thinking during them. i didn't mind it as
much because it was interesting for the most part, but it does feel like it could have been 2 - 3
episodes shorter if it didn't focus on that as much. everything else about it was fun as hell
and even though i'm going to take a break before starting stardust crusaders, i still can't wait
to see how it turns out. |
| 6 | | Daft Punk Random Access Memories
Space Dandy - this is pretty much the equivalent of taking all of the comedy aspects of
cowboy bebop and samurai champloo and injecting it with some steroids. a few of the
episodes were so-so, but it always managed to pick back up with the next one. saw it off
toonami and while the english dub was decent, the only real stand out to me was the narrator.
will definitely check it out in japanese whenever it releases on blu ray. |
