| Albums That Are Always On
Just a listing of the CD's that have become attached to my ears for whatever reason. Not neccessarily the best of the best, but they get love from me more than any other. Replay value baby. | 1 | | Weezer The Blue Album
Coolest.Album.Eva.
I fell in love with this CD over a decade ago and it's never been far from my heart. Every song is tight, they make me smile and empower me to sing along with every lyric. | 2 | | Bad Religion Tested
My favourite band's best compilation of live tracks, all pressed onto the hotest 20+ track CD of all-time. Woo! | 3 | | Deftones Adrenaline
I was blown away by these guys the first time I heard them and this was the album that did it. Ten years on, this album has lost none of its rock. | 4 | | Saves The Day Stay What You Are
I adore this CD like almost nothing else. The tracks are diverse, amusing and at times, absolutely amazing. A treat. "This Is Not An Exit" might just be my favourite song ever recorded. | 5 | | Between The Buried and Me Colors
Take away "The Anatomy Of" and every release of theirs could make this list, but right now, I am in awe of this CD. Talented lads, with the power to control us through sound. | 6 | | Strung Out Twisted By Design
A band that deserves a Lifetime Acheivement award from me, for the many hours they've helped take away my boredom with their metal tinged, punk. This is (IMO) without question their finest work. | 7 | | Lagwagon Lets Talk About Feelings
Every song has me signing away without a care in the world. Thats all I need to say aboout this one. | 8 | | Opeth Still Life
It's not easy for a concept album to retain such replay value, but this is a master piece and it's impossible to ignore. They're a fantastic band. | 9 | | Snapcase End Transmission
A real shame they ended matters when they did, because as such I never got the chance to see them live. This album in particular is a GREAT one and the stories contained within are sometimes brilliant. A shame their following never stretched far enough to get them the acclaim that I think this album deserved. | 10 | | No Fun At All The Big Knockover
For a time, no CD I owned had the right to push this out of the changer. The best pop-punk band, (not named Lagwagon) ever. | 11 | | Thrice The Illusion of Saftey
How good is this? Honestly, an amazing work which featured the band at its highest point - for me - and thats why it's in the CD player every other week. | 12 | | A Wilhelm Scream Career Suicide
A recent release, but I can certainly see this one staying the test of time. F'ing awesome work this one. Catchy? Sure. But its also incredibly techincal for a work within the genre and I for one, love it. | 13 | | Sublime Sublime
Is Santeria the most awesome chill out song ever written? If its not, I'm willing to listen to an argument why. A really inspiring band, who broke mainstream boundaries with their style meshing. | 14 | | Nirvana Nevermind
I think most kids who grew up and came of age during the 90's who allowed music into their lives, were no doubt influenced by this album - for better or worse - thats an acheivement. Still a great and regular listen for me. | 15 | | Metallica Master of Puppets
MASTER! MASTER! WHERES THE DREAMS THAT I'VE BEEN AFTER! | |
Masochist
05.21.08 | You have Bad Religion on your list. Your prize is a can of Masochist-brand "Insta-WIN."
But wait, there's more! You said BR was your favorite band. You get the collector's edition Masochist-brand "EPIC WININA Can!"
Let's see...Deftones is ace. Thrice is ace. Nirvana and Metallica are ace, as well, but I didn't hear any of Nirvana's albums until the 2000's (I was born in the late 80's, was a kid during the 90's). Actually, my musical foundation starts with Bad Religion :-D.
And I have to respectfully disagree on #13: there is perhaps one song that is a better chillax song than "Santeria" - that, my friend, is "Doin' Time" ;-). That's the song I think of when I think of just sittin' on the couch with a group of friends doing nothing but listening to music and reminiscing about old times.
GREAT list!
P. S. I usually don't do this, and I know it's frowned upon...but if you haven't already perhaps you wouldn't mind taking a look one of my lists. It's called "Time To Settle This Once & For All," (the latest one I have) and it's basically a contest of certain artists' albums that seem to have the same amount of praise. Given your choices here, I thought you might be able to give your input on quite a few of them...it's up to you, though. | Bfhurricane
