Live Music

Last 3 shows I saw were all A+ . Looking forward to Saint Pepsi, Denzel Curry, Pretty Lights, Trentemoller, Caribou, maybe bondax cause it's at slake
1DJ Shadow
Endtroducing.....

(with Cut Chemist honoring afrika bambaataa) Friday September 5 @ Irving Plaza . I was
admittedly a bit flustered after having been stood up, but Josh and Lucas were so chill and the
vibes were palpable from the moment I walked in. Much recommended to those considering
seeing them play soon
2Darkside
Psychic

Friday, September 12 @ Brooklyn Masonic Temple . Having seen the performance before and
without that much material under the 'darkside' moniker, I was worried this wouldn't stand
out, but Nico Jaar and Dave Harrington Brought it. slowly, softly, subtly almost undetectably
building before the explosion of lights and energy -- it's sad to know they won't perform again,
but at least they had their run and Nico will be freed up to do his independent creative
pursuits
3Public Enemy
Fear of a Black Planet

September 16 @ Brooklyn Bowl. Another example of the perfect venue to see a show. Chuck
D and Flavor Flav had the stage presence of guys who have been doing this since the 80s.
And rather than being old or tired, they just grooved. Flav launched shirts out to the crowd:
"Racism is not over but I'm over racism" and brought up nearly a dozen ladies for one of his
closing sets, giving each a kiss on the cheek before they stepped down.
