Albums That Stuck With Me Over The Years

Barely any of the music I listened to when I was a teenager is anything I would even think of listening to today. Here's a list of albums my angsty teenage self listened to that I still love today
1Against Me!
Reinventing Axl Rose

Man, this band. My punk phase in high school can pretty much be defined by driving around with a few friends belting out the lyrics to them. Even though I'm not a huge fan of recent releases, they're still one of my all time favorite bands
2Alkaline Trio
Goddamnit

I still remember listening to San Francisco for the first time and loving this band. My one ex girlfriend who hated all of my music even liked this album, 'nuff said
3Cursive
The Ugly Organ

First band I ever saw live, and wow was it good. Album is pretty cool too
4The Gaslight Anthem
The '59 Sound

The first time I ever listened to this album I was in love. I probably haven't gone a month without listening to at least a song from this album since I first heard it
5Manchester Orchestra
I'm Like a Virgin Losing a Child

Just started re-listening to this band after a few years, and it sure stood the test of time. The emotional connection I have to this album is unparallelled, it's just a fantastic album
6The National
Boxer

It's The National. It's Boxer. It might be my favorite album of all time.
7Thrice
The Illusion of Safety

I listened to this band at a time when all I listened to was really bad post-hardcore and pop-punk. Like, really, really bad. Pretty cool that I still love this album today
8Mischief Brew
Smash the Windows

Oh man I used to love folk-punk. I'm pretty sure there was a whole summer where I didn't listen to any music that wasn't folk-punk. If you've never heard the genre, give this album a listen. It's some good stuff
9The Bouncing Souls
How I Spent My Summer Vacation

This album is just so catchy. Listening to it now I still just don't want to do anything but sing along and dance
10Operation Ivy
Energy

Classic ska-punk album. Back in the day I skanked to this more times than I can count
