It's a Pretty Dark Place to Leave a Piece of Light

I'm going to a show tonight for the first time in a long time, went on a drive with
my dad while eating pizza, smoking an e-cig, (not as good as regular cigarettes but
fuck it) talking shit about latin music, blasting whatever fun indie shit was playing
on the radio, got some grape soda (which always brings ~good vibes~) and saw
some some interesting characters. Just a lot of good feelings.

Not the cheeriest album, but it brings back some fond memories. Jamming it
currently, and really digging the subdued atmosphere.

I'm kind of known on sputnik for being a sadass child, and despite a lot of bad
things that have happened recently I'm trying to move away from that, just trying
to be more relaxed and accepting of everything that happens, try not to get so
upset, and just enjoy life for what it is. This is an album that's really helped with
that, really really fond of this one, it's brought me a lot of good vibes and helped
me deal with some shitty vibes.

This album never fails to bring a smile to my face. Jeff is an amazing dude that's
dealt with a lot of shit, but has never failed to make music that is just as fun as it
is bummed out.

A cheesy album to say the least, but it makes up for that by being so goddamn fun.
Another album that never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Last night I read through the lyrics to every single Orchid song, with the sheets
that come with Totality, Chaos Is Me, Dance Tonight!, and this album. He is one of
the most brilliant lyricists I have ever come across. And although Orchid is
"screamo" a lot of their songs have a triumphant and youthful sound to them, true
punk vibes. The soundtrack to the revolution of every-day life.

Going to see him with Alex G later tonight, and needless to say I'm pumped. Mat
has said himself this will most likely be his last tour, so I'm grateful I'll be able to
see him before he settles down.

These guys and some shitty folk punk outfit are opening for Alex G and Elvis D,
which is strange to see these guys on the same bill, since they're super depressed
twinkly emo skramz whatever, but I'm excited to see them for sure, one of the
better bands that are local to me.
