Obligatory "Best Of" 2014

Time for the age old, no-one-really-cares-but-you-still-make-it, best of r2014 list. Going to give my rating for each and my top-15 so far this year. rCheers!
15Deniro Farrar
Rebirth

3.5/5. The beats on this go t o o h a r d not to include it.
14St. Vincent
St. Vincent

3.5/5. Not normally my cup of tea, but she really impressed me here. Opener
"Rattlesnake" with its distorted guitar is awesome.
13Mongol Horde
Mongol Horde

3.7/5. FRANK TURNER IS FUCKING ALIVE AND I LOVE IT
12Freddie Gibbs and Madlib
Pinata

3.8/5. "WTF WHY ISN'T THIS NUMBER 1?!?!11" To those people, shut the fuck up.
Gangsta Gibbs has never been that impressive to me. That production however, is
on point.
11The Menzingers
Rented World

3.8/5. Even when they disappoint me, I still love it. When my hopes and aspirations
for an album are 'AOTY' however, it's pretty easy to be letdown.
10Isaiah Rashad
Cilvia Demo

3.9/5. BITCCHHHH ASSSSS RAPPEEEERS, I SHOT YOU DOWNNNNN. Favorite Hip-Hop
track of the year. Can't wait for more from this kid.
9 Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties
We Don't Have Each Other

4/5. Had this at a 4.5 for awhile, but the songs are all too same-sounding after too
many listens. Divorce and the American South is fantastic though.
8The Hotelier
Home, Like NoPlace is There

4/5. If this album had a more original sound to it, I would have dug it aloooooot
harder. As is, its a really, really well done pop-punk album that we've heard before.
Only better.
7BADBADNOTGOOD
III

4.2/5. Was going to review this, but college finals got in the way. Confessions is
the fucking jam.
6Sun Kil Moon
Benji

4.2/5. For those days where I just sit outside on the grass of open plains and
indulge in my emotions.
5La Dispute
Rooms of the House

4.3/5. Woman(Reading) is probs my favorite track of the year.
4How To Dress Well
What is this Heart?

4.5/5. Still the best R&B album since Channel Orange
3The War on Drugs
Lost in the Dream

4.5/5. Fucking love the atmosphere The War on Drugs create with this album
2Swans
To Be Kind

4.7/5. Didn't jam this quite as hard as some, but still jammed pre hard
1Trophy Scars
Holy Vacants

4.8/5. Those bluesy riffs mannnn
