Best Metalcore Tracks

No bullshit
1Botch
Frequency Ass Bandit

Botch was one of the first
bands to really bring metalcore
to the forefront of the heavier
side of
music. Introspective lyrics, odd
time signatures, and welll
placed breakdowns made
songs like
Frequency Ass Bandit
something to behold.
2Integrity
Micha

Arguably the first metalcore
band, Integrity took the genre of
metallic hardcore to a new
level. With
its intense opening and Dwids
odd vocals, Micha became an
instant classic that seems to
have
been forgotten today among the
metalcore crowd.
3Poison the Well
Nerdy

The first band to really bring
melody into metalcore, it was
no more evident than on Nerdy.
The
lyrics reflect upon a love lost,
coupled with a brutal
breakdown and an absolutely
beautiful hook
placed in the middle.
4Shai Hulud
Set Your Body Ablaze

Some old metalcore stalwarts
would claim this to be a trendy
pick, as it is one of Shai Hulud's
moreopopular tracks, but you
cannot deny the power of this
song. A tremendous breakdown
that
proved to be a crowd pleaser,
coupled with introspective
lyrics, ranging from self
sacrifice to the
existence of God.
5Rorschach
In the Year of Our Lord

One of the more forgotten
metalcore acts, Rorschach was
abrasive beyond belief. Insane
riffs
coupled with odd time
signatures and nearly harsh,
more hardcore style vocals, and
it was no more evident than
here.
6Deadguy
Die With Your Mask On
7Converge
Homewrecker

While I believe Converge to be
one of the more overrated acts
in metalcore, you cannot deny
the
power of Homewrecker. The
sheer ferocity of the vocals
combined with fast guitar work
and
pounding percussion will beat
you into submission.
8Kiss It Goodbye
Hartley
9Unearth
Zombie Autopilot
10Killswitch Engage
Element of One

I'm very biased towards
Killswitch Engage's Alive or
Just Breathing. While I
understand most
people's qualms with this
album, I cannot understand the
criticism for Element of One. A
beautiful
acoustic opening that turns into
an intense onslaught is evident
to the genius that Killswitch
once
was.
