Top 30 Weezer Songs
I guess it isn't necessarily EVERYONE'S top 30 Weezer songs, but I think my list should be generally well liked. And even if it's not, oh well.
WARNING: "This is such a Pity" is not on this list. |
1 | Weezer Only In Dreams
Probably the most epic song ever. 8 minutes of pure ownage. After about 4 minutes of a really good, slow, bass driven song, it picks up in a 2 minute bridge, and the EXPLODES into a dueling solo. Maybe the best song of all time. |
2 | Mykel and Carli
A song about River's two friends from back in the day. It's a shame they died in a car crash. Anyhoo, just an extreme amount of energy. I love this song. |
3 | Say it Ain't So
The first Weezer song I ever heard, back when I was maybe 8. The way the chorus explodes is great every time. |
4 | The Good Life
Just a "wow" song. Best on Pinkerton, and almost the best Weezer song ever. Good solo, just good everything. |
5 | Pink Triangle
Singing about falling in love with a lesbian. That's all I have to say. |
6 | El Scorcho
The whole top 6 is extremely close. I could have put this along with the rest of the top 6 at 1, because all of them are really good. Great drumming, and great vocals add up to a helluva song. |
7 | Holiday
Everything is good about this song. Good lyrics, good guitar, good bass, good everything. Only flaw is that nothing is AMAZING. It's still one of my favorites though. |
8 | Butterfly
The only totally-acoustic Weezer song, and it's really good. Slow, but it has a good constant tempo. |
9 | In the Garage
The lyrics any loser can relate to. Great lyrics, great song. |
10 | Why Bother?
ANOTHER fast faced Weezer song. Simple, but hard hitting riff. The chorus is one of the best Weezer chorus'. |
11 | My Name is Jonas
This song has been stuck in my head for the past month. Great great great riff. One of Weezer's best riffs. |
12 | The World Has Turned and Left me Here
This is the second part of "No One Else". The guy has dumped his girlfriend, and now deeply regrets it. Lyrics are good, and the acoustic intro riff is one of my favorites. |
13 | Tired of Sex
Fast paced heavy song. Just like a lot of Weezer songs, it's really good. It's just kind of bland compared to others. |
14 | The Sweater Song
I actually like the demo version of this song better than the studio version, but whatever. The whole song is simple and really solid, and goes out with a bang. |
15 | No Other One
Slow song, with a heavy chorus. It works... it's just not a song you get stuck in your head for days. |
16 | No One Else
Really good lyrics, where he basically insults his girlfriend and eventually brakes things off with her. Catchy and good pacing. Gets old pretty fast though. |
17 | Buddy Holly.
Not much to say about this one. It's a Weezer staple. I just feel that it's only so well liked because it was a single. There are definitely better Weezer jams than this one, although like all of the songs on this list, this is a keeper. |
18 | Across the Sea
Really good song. A lot of emotion goes into the story presented in the lyrics, with River's falling for a girl he's never met who lives across the ocean. It hurts, because you can feel his frustration through his delivery. Good song. |
19 | Falling for You
A good stand alone song, but once again, compared to the rest of Pinkerton, it almost seems like an extended outro to "Pink Triangle". Good song in it's own right obviously. |
20 | Jamie (Acoustic)
Jamie was on the deluxe version of the Blue Album and appeared in both studio form and in a live acoustic form. The acoustic version is one of the best acoustic songs I've ever heard. It's sung perfectly, and is just a beautiful song. |
21 | Dope Nose
The best of Nu Weezer. Fast paced, catchy, with nonsense lyrics. Just great. |
22 | Surf Wax America
My least favorite song on the Blue Album. A good song, and the bridge is amazing. However, compared to the rest of Blue/Pinkerton, it isn't that amazing. |
23 | You Gave Your Love To Me Softly
The best Weezer song that no one has ever heard. Should have been on an album really... Would have fit on the Blue Album perfectly. Only bad thing about it is that it is quite short, although that way it never gets boring. |
24 | Devotion
A slow, sarcastic song about his girlfriend. Great lyrics, catchy pacing. Good overall. |
25 | The Other Way
The best song on MB. Really catchy, but childish lyrics. Still, most everyone can relate to seeing a pretty girl and getting nervous, and being insanely catchy doesn't hurt. |
26 | Keep Fishin'
Catchy catchy song. One of the best on Maladroit. The chorus is great, but I find the verses to be lacking. Still solid. |
27 | Perfect Situation
One of the few decent songs on MB. Sounds like Nu Weezer playing and old Weezer song. Pretty good. Lyrics hurt it though. |
28 | I Just Threw Out The Love Of My Dreams
A Weezer song with a female vocalist? Fast paced, and catchy. Seems kind of incomplete though, and lacks staying power. |
29 | The Christmas Song
A really catchy, slow song. Probably the best Christmas song of all time, but not extremely memorable compared to other Weezer songs. |
30 | Getchoo
A good song, but to me, this was the weakest on Pinkerton, my favorite album. Still a lot better of 90% of Green/Maladroit/Make Believe/Red. |
