Ryan Martinie

Juan Alderete
I consider this guy to be very underrated. He is a phenomenal bass player and one that is resereved in how he goes about writing the riff. Listen to Amputecture and he shows both insane technical ability with some mad endurance and, of course, always air tight. | | 2 |  | Primus
Frizzle Fry
Les Claypool
Little reason to be given here. The guy single handedly destroyed the slap technique and rewrote it. Les writes both face-melting lines, but also some of the catchiest stuff going. Listen to a track by him and if you don't tap your foot at the very least, you're dead inside. | | 1 |  | Dir En Grey

Toshiya
A brilliant bass player, that knows just how to map out a bassline that is both technical and/or melodic, but also gives what the song needs. Given that there shouldn't be a lot of room in the band to be flash Toshiya manages it in a non-pretentious way. | |

Yeah, while Burton, and John are great players, it's that technical or mega fast shit that doesn't do a lot for me. Justin probably shoul have been in my top 5, but I'm jamming a lot of Manson, so I'm digging Twiggy a lot at the min.
Geddy is a legend, but I wouldn't say he's in my top 5. Again though, can't say it enough, it's my fucking opinion. | DrGonzo1937
